Zara had barely buckled her seatbelt before Lucy pounced on her to ask her questions she knew had been eating at her all day since she arrived at her parents house. “Alright,” Lucy said, twisting in her seat, eyes sharp and prying. “What the hell was that back there?” she asked as she pushed up one of her brows up. Zara exhaled slowly, staring out the window as Lennox pulled away from the curb. She should have expected this. Lucy wasn’t the kind of friend who just let things go. If she smelled even a whiff of drama, she had to get to the bottom of it. That was the kind of woman and friend she was and Zara liked that, because it helped talking about it instead of keeping it locked in. But right now? Right now, Zara wasn’t in the mood to relive the last twenty minutes of her life.
