Lennox arrived home, his movements stiff with everything that had happened this evening. His head was still reeling, his thoughts tangled in frustration, in the image of Zara with someone else, smiling… pretending, but smiling nonetheless. He exhaled sharply, his fingers pressed down against the keypad as he tried to unlock his door, then he pushed it open with more force than necessary. His mind was still buzzing, still burning from the sight of her on that damn date, from the way his stomach had twisted at the thought of her choosing someone else, of her moving on; like he was nothing, like everything between them had been a minor inconvenience rather than a collision neither of them had prepared for. He stepped inside, shutting the door behind him with a quiet click, already shrugging
