Lennox ended the call with his sister, Lucy, a smirk tugging at his lips. She had a knack for dropping information without being asked, like casually mentioning that Zara was at the café down the street from the precinct. He wasn’t complaining; the thought of running into Zara was far from unpleasant. He slipped his phone into his pocket and turned to his best friend, Sean, who was buried in paperwork at his desk. “Hey, man, I’m heading out for a bit. Need anything?” he asked. Before Sean could respond, the door to his office swung open, and Vicki, Sean’s wife, breezed in. With her free-spirited nature and infectious energy, she had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. “There you are!” she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as she saw Lennox. “Seeing you twice in one week…”
