Zara adjusted the strap of her bag as she walked toward the door, her fingers curling around the handle, ready to step out for the day. She had just finished cooking and stocking up the fridge for those times she wouldn’t be able to cook. But just as she was about to pull it open, she heard the unmistakable sound of a key turning in the lock from the other side. She sighed. Lucy was back from her shift. She paused, waiting for her best friend to step in. Sure enough, within seconds, the door swung open, and Lucy walked in, looking exhausted but still managing a small smile. “Hey,” Lucy greeted, dropping her keys into the bowl by the door. “You’re going to work?” she asked as she pushed back the door with her legs, closing it. Zara nodded, shifting her bag higher on her shoulder. “
