27 DANTE My hands were clammy on the steering wheel and I stared at the road as I drove through the corridor of tall conifers on either side, seeing nothing. As soon as I came back from the restroom and saw Savanna’s empty seat, the hair on my arms stood up. My sixth sense told me something had gone terribly wrong, and cold terror gripped me in its icy embrace. I searched the entire place and knew someone had taken her. I had a hunch who it was.
