Lucious stands up and goes to lean against the bookshelf.
“No and I don’t think I will be getting that cure,” I say truthfully.
Lucious frowns but doesn’t say anything. Joey tilts his head to one side.
“Why is that mummy?” I can’t tell if it’s out of the curiosity of a child or if he is questioning me as an adult who is about to reprimand you for doing something wrong would.
“Because Joey she wants me to let go of the anger and pain I carry for those that wronged me. I can’t do that, Jolene’s mother is part of the reason, part of the people I want to get my revenge on and her mate. He wants you, how can I sit back and act like someone out there isn’t trying to get you from me in the name of saving others.”
Joey only looks confused.
Lucious pushes off the shelf and carries Joey
