CHAPTER 18: DISASTROUS.

VIVIAN'S POV

OMG!!!. I really can't believe I did that, after every self encouragement I gave myself. I went in straight to my own office that was divided as cubicles. I sink straight into the chair. what have I done?. first day at work I almost had s*x with my boss, this had to stop or I'm quitting. suddenly I started feeling sorry for Liam, I've cheated on him, I can't tell him that, cuz I knew exactly what I was doing when I kissed him. But the truth is that I know Lucas too well, he wouldn't just let go of the past that way,he has an ulterior motive, but I wouldn't be an easy prey.

I was working on some papers on my table, when Chloe barged into the office attracting all eyes on us. "You stupid witch" she continued. "So, this is your plan,this is what you've wanted when you applied for a job here...". "Look, I don't know what you're talking about". I said trying to defend myself, but she was not getting any of it. She turned to the others in cubicles and said. "You see this w***e over here?" she said pointing at me. "She's been sleeping with the CEO, for the past weeks, so if she gets fired, it's my doing" she turned to me again and said. "I'm not going to play your little games, this is not over, you've chosen the hard way" she finally said and left.

"What are you guys staring at?" I said when I noticed that they were all still staring at me. I went straight into the bathroom and cried out my eyes, Today's not really my day. I took some tissues and cleaned my teary eyes and stared at myself in the mirror for some time. I took some deep breaths and left the bathroom, went straight to my cubicle and sat down, although I could still feel some eyes still staring at me. I looked at the time, it's almost closing time, I really need to get out of here really quick, the atmosphere around here is really unsettling.

I was so drowned in my thoughts, I didn't know when a girl walked up to me and sat next to me,she was wearing glasses with brown wavy hair,she was wearing a sleeveless tank top with some pair of leggings, which was weird even for me. "Hi, I'm Kenzie.". she said with a big smile on her face. she looked nice, I smiled back at her. "And I'm Vivian". I said trying not to be weird. "I'm sorry about what Chloe said, she's always that way. you don't have to be scared you know" she said trying to cheer me up. "I'm not worried about her. I'm just... just really trying to go home right now" I said, trying to pretend like every thing is okay. but it's not.

"Well... that was how it was for me when I was a newbie. don't worry we'll get by" "And I'll also love it if we become friends, I kinda like you though" she said with a weird smile on her face that creeps me out. "Well.. I didn't think I'll make friends on my first day at work, but...Yh, we can be friends.".

I went home that day really exhausted and tired, it's been a hell of a day. I wasn't hungry, and I didn't want to talk to Mom either. I went straight upstairs, took my bath and threw myself on the bed. Not some minutes later, I heard knocking on the door. "Vivian? Can you hear me? Liam's here to see you.". My Mom said. Wait what?. Liam? Why is he here? it's just my first day at work and he's already here. How will I be able to face him.

After some minutes, there was a soft knock and Liam came in,he has never looked so handsome before. He sat on the bed beside me and hugged me for a while before saying "Hi". "How was your first day at work?" "It was horrible as usual". I said and we both laughed together. "They were so mean to me. But... I made a friend". "Oh really?" he asked. "Yh". I answered looking at him straight in the eyes, I didn't even deserve to be with him. he kissed me slowly... I've missed his touch, although Liam is a good kisser but he's nothing compared to Lucas, Lucas could make a woman go down on her knees with just a peck. now why am I comparing the both of them. Liam pulled out seeing the look on my face. "is something wrong?". "No... I'm just.. just.. having a bad day." I answered saving my ass. he looked at me but I could see something else in his eyes. " Oh okay, so when are you going to tell me about Lucas" "I don't know, I.... wait what?" I hurriedly stood up from him. did he know about what happened today?. "How do you know about Lucas" "Really?!!" he said angrily storming out of the bed. "I'm sorry, I just got carried away" I said but he was not having any of it. "When I went to your office earlier to pick you up, that was what everyone was talking about. you seduced your boss and you guys were having an affair, all this on your first day, really?". Liam said, I could feel that he was deeply hurt. "Liam, I'm sorry, I was really having a bad day and it was not what it seems like, I..." "You were having a bad day,why didn't you call me?. Look I know that you and Lucas had somethings for each other in the past. if you still love him...". "No I don't, come on Liam. I love you and only you,no one could replace that. you know that I could never cheat on you right?".he looked at me with pity and something else and said. "I don't know what to believe anymore..." with that he left without closing the door. I've messed myself up. I'm so stupid. Liam has done nothing more than just help me get back on my feet. and I hurt him this way.

I sent him a lot of text messages and kept on calling but he wasn't picking up. maybe I should just give him space and time to cool off. I can't lose Liam.
