Delia couldn’t believe her mother. This whole time she had known who her father was—where he lived, and had remained silent. At his wishes, but still. She felt she deserved to know, even if it hurt—even if it twisted her gut so tight she felt like vomiting. Anything was better than this surprise family reunion with a dad she barely thought of, though speaking to her mother was a constant reminder of her dubious genetic pool.
