As they were about to leave Eyres’ territory, Keiron offered Evan a ride. He politely refused. He thought it would be best to drive his own vehicle. If he found his mate, he wanted the freedom to leave whenever they chose to.

That night the turnout at the ball was enormous. The large two-story mansion in Oxford was the perfect size for the two hundred and fifty people who showed up. Evan’s mate had to be there.
Once inside, the friends found one another. They mingled for a little while but eventually branched out. Hadleigh had a few drinks as she wandered alone. She didn’t want to think about how depressed Evan would be if he didn’t find his mate tonight.
She hoped what Keiron said was true.
