The misting rain made the path below Hadleigh's feet extra slick. She was barely able to walk in a straight line, even when shifted. As she scanned ahead, her vision intermittently doubled. Upon nearing the Ramsey's, ten soldier wolves ran to her. She was swaying with vertigo as she shifted to human.
"Hadleigh, are you okay?" Evelyn asked. "We've been looking for you for hours."
"It's a long story," Hadleigh said. "I can fill you in once I'm home."
The wolves agreed it could wait. They escorted Hadleigh to the Ramsey gate. Keiron was waiting at the door with Jasmine. As soon as she arrived, Hadleigh got tunnel vision, saw white, and then collapsed.
