Breakfast was quiet and tense, at least between Taylor and her mother. Liam didn’t seem to care. He devoured his food, undoubtedly hungry from all the energy he had spent. It felt like the dagger had drained all sanity from him, and the ravenous hunger was now eating deep into him. He had tucked the dagger into his drawer and locked it away. One day, he would have the energy to figure out exactly what it did and if he could control the magic inside it. Taylor left before breakfast was even over. There wasn’t usually a specific time when it ended, but Liam knew she had no appetite when she only ate half of her food while he took an extra serving to satisfy his ravenous hunger.
