The fat man fell to the ground with such force that his body seemed to stick there. A moment of shocked silence followed as everyone's eyes turned to the door to see what was happening. Taylor's body slowly slumped to the floor.
“Liam,” she called out weakly.
He started to reach for her and then stopped when the guards approached him. He turned around instead, using his body to shield her. Mr. Hawkins groaned painfully from where he lay. He raised a thick hand and pointed it directly at Liam.
“Kill him,” he said.
Taylor gasped, wanting to object, but the drugs had gotten into her bloodstream and she could barely stay awake. She felt the dizziness swimming through her mind. The last thing she saw before her eyes closed was a group of men aiming towards Liam with their gun.
