A DIFFERENT MORNING

640 Words
A heartbreaking sound disturbs my nightmares... I reach for the bedside table in search of the phone, but the result is to throw it to the floor. I get out of bed and sit down on the edge and pick up the phone, finding 12 missed calls from Ines and at least 10 greeting messages. A sharp pain in my left arm wakes me up completely. And my head is heavy. I lift my sleeve and find myself a nice bruise, as if someone or something grabbed me violently. I run to the bathroom, wash my face with cold water, trying to reconstruct last night's events. But the only result? My face is frozen, and I didn't even wake up properly, my mood is low and I can't recover. I brush my teeth, put on black pencil and rimel. I'm looking for something special to wear, but in the end I opt for a little blue dress I bought a couple of months ago, which I've never worn. Suddenly I hear a knock on the door. "Zara, are you awake? I brought you breakfast. Mum told me about your chat last night, so I thought you could use some company and lots of calories! >> I go to open the door, and find Raquelle, my sister and Ines with a tray full of sweets. > Ines jumps around my neck and kisses me on my cheek. She smells so good, and she's strangely dressed up. She has taken out her piercing and she no longer has that heavy makeup she usually wears. "What did you do to my b***h? Where has Ines gone? What the heck happened to you? >> > > my sister covers her mouth with her hand, and glaring at her she bursts into laughter. Still feeling a sharp pain in my arm, I show the bruise to the girls. > my sister and her sweet jokes to sand the ears. Mom asks us to go downstairs and when I get to the kitchen I smell a little smell that instantly lifts my spirits. She has just baked the kürtoscolac. Hungarian pastries that look like puff pastry in the shape of honeycombs. > mom hugs me and wishes me a happy birthday, even inserting a few phrases of apology for last night, in her speech. > > she kisses my forehead and her scent makes me feel at home. While I'm stuffing myself with kurtos, I hear a spot park in front of the house. I throw down the chair and everything around me, and run into the courtyard. There he was, back from Turkey, the most important day of my life. Like a 5 year old girl I jump into his arms. I can't find words to express how I feel when Dad comes home after his long travels. As soon as I finish hugging him, I notice a red car in front of me. > > I can't wait anymore, finally my car. I would like to get on it and run away from everything and everyone right now, just me, her and the street. To feel the wind caressing my hair, just driving, without a precise destination. > the girls are already in the car they are squealing and humming with joy. I hear Ines screaming from the car. > she says to Raquelle as they embrace and plot who knows what for tonight. I approach them and I see Ines holding 4 tickets for the Dracula car races. And with a mischievous face moving her eyebrows she makes me understand in a low voice that tonight we will have fun.
