Arthur POV
I was so pissed off when I saw someone daring to flirt with my mate that I missed the part where my mouth was so open a fly could get in.
She looked amazing, so hot I couldn't describe how it made me feel. I swallowed and got the words out.
"Miriam... you look stunning." She gave me a shy smile that made my heart clench.
Her hair was pulled in a ponytail with a few strands around her face, her lips had a deep red lip-gloss smile, and her legs looked so sexy. She was wearing a dark mini-skirt, and her top hugged her breasts in a way that made it almost impossible to look away...
"Thank you, see, being emo has its perks." I knew she was teasing me, but I didn't care. I would admit whatever she wanted any time. I just wanted to see her smile.
"On you love, any clothes look good..."
"What about no clothes?" She gave a naughty, knowing smile.
"It was too dark the last time I saw you naked. Next time, we might need more light for me to create an opinion."
"Oh, is that so?"
I closed the small distance between us, grabbed her by the waist and pushed her flush against my chest.
"It is, but right now, can I beg you to kiss me? Please?"
"How can I say no, when you plead, love?"
I noticed the sarcasm in her voice, but I didn't care. I kissed her passionately. We were so lost in each other's kisses that people around us started whistling.
She broke our kiss, trying to step away from me without success. There was no way I would let her get away. She was red as a tomato, and I gave her my naughty smile.
"Love, if you keep kissing me like this, people might get the wrong impression."
She pulled me down to her, and our foreheads touched.
"You need to stop teasing me like this, or I'll be sure to make my absolute worst, love."
"But I'm just so good at it, plus you are the one to blame. You are so damn beautiful..."
She blushed again, making it my constant goal to see her flushed cheeks constantly.
Soon our friends joined us, bringing beer, and we waited together for the concert to start.
I had a good laugh when Cody started singing, "I want to break free", when Mafalda said she wanted to travel around the world before university.
The band started performing. James Morrison was good, better than I expected. Then that Portuguese rock band was incredible, with great musicians. Miriam knew all the lyrics by heart, their ballads were cool, and I noticed she was emotional a few times. I had to check the translation of those lyrics... they kept being called to do an encore, and they did until the producers almost kicked them out.
When Richie Campel had a fantastic voice when it started, Mafalda was the one that knew all of the lyrics. I could see Cody was enjoying the concert too.
There was a small break, and Eddie Vedder started singing shortly after. Miriam was so happy, and so was I. She knew all of his new album's songs. After he sang "without you", he carried on with pearl jam bangers that I loved.
"It's Black, Arthur! It's Black!" She was just as excited as me, and I smiled at her as a kid would.
"I know!"
We sang together, and then Eddie started talking to the audience.
"Find someone to cuddle with. This is the last one! Can you f*****g guess which one it is?"
Miriam shouted loudly, "JUST BREATHE!"
He looked at her. "You're right! What's your name?"
"MIRIAM!" She shouted loud enough to be heard on the other side of the arena.
"Well, Miriam, it seems like you got someone to cuddle. Let's rock."
She was so excited she couldn't stop moving. I gently turned her to me.
"Let's cuddle?" She nodded, and I turned her around and hugged her from behind. Crossing my hands in front of her hips and setting my chin on top of her head. She relaxed into my embrace, and Eddie started to play.
We were both singing along, and I made sure to sing it for her to hear the part. I wanted her to know that it reminded me of her.
"Stay with me,
Oh you're all I see
Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh if I didn't I'm a fool you see,
No one knows this more than me,
And I come clean."
She shivered. I felt the emotion of love coming off of her in solid waves. It made me emotional too.
She turned around, had tears in her eyes, and kissed me until the song ended.
Eddie ended the concert by thanking everybody and turning to us, saying, "f*****g beautiful guys! Wish you all the best."
Miriam lost it. She screamed like crazy, and everybody shouted his name loudly and clearly. He bowed and left.
"It was amazing, Art!"
"It was epic... I was thinking...do you want to go with me for a walk on the beach?"
"Sure! But what about the guys?" She turned to face our friends.
"Go, girl, don't worry about me. Cody and I are going to the Dj after the party. It starts in about an hour. You guys go...
"Okay, I'll see you later."
"Yeah, you two behave..." Cody said as a tease, but he also knew about the surprise. That was, after all, the reason we were late.
I offered her my arm.
"Let's go?"
"Sure, where are we going ?"
"You'll see."
We started walking in a comfortable silence towards the beach. There was a thirty-minute walking path, and I thought she would enjoy the fresh air and the stars.
I had it all planned. Before the concert, I went to the beach with Cody and set up a tent to spend the night watching the moon and the ocean. I was going to light a fire and cook some burgers.
I was planning to tell her that I loved her until now. I hadn't dared to do so. I didn't want her to feel forced, but tonight I wanted it to be unique. I wanted to tell her how much she meant to me.
We arrived at the dune, and she spotted the tent, giving me a surprised look.
"Are we sleeping here?"
" If you want, I want to make you dinner and watch the stars. There's supposed to be a meteor shower tonight."
"I would love that." she looked at me, touched by the gesture.
"Come. Sit here while I light the fire."
I set the pile of sticks on fire, making quick work of it since I already had it ready to go.
I grilled some burgers, serving them with a can of coke and two bags of crisps.
We ate and talked the whole time. That was the thing with Miriam. She would always have subjects.
"This is so good!" seeing her eat with so much satisfaction made me happy.
"I can cook for you any time you want." I gave her a smirk. For a moment, I could tell she was blushing, but she quickly changed the subject.
"I'll remember that! Actually, I will never forget tonight. It has been the best night I ever had, all thanks to you," that made me feel a pinch in my heart.
"Me? No, we made this night memorable for each other". I moved closer. We were lost in the eyes of each other. I didn't know what to say...to break the silence, I cleared my throat and asked a stupid question.
"Have you finished?" extending my hand to grab her plate. She handed it to me, "Yes, thank you".
Feeling the wind from the sea breeze picked up a little, I went to grab a blanket, thinking she might get cold. I came back to cover her shoulders from behind. The gesture seemed to touch her, and I could feel it. She turned her gaze to me, whispering, "thank you" at all I could do was smile and nod.
I turned to put away all the cooking stuff. I finished it all in no time and came to sit next to her. Facing her and extending my arms, "Do you want to cuddle?" she blushed, hugging me and placing her head on my chest while I pulled her to stand between my legs. "With you, always...".
