Arthur This guy was starting to piss me off. In the middle of this stupid argument with this brainless t**t, I was hit by a very strong, defiant emotion. Followed by the most beautiful scent, I smelled the ocean breeze and sunflowers. It was so intense that it made my heart race, and I saw where it came from. A human girl came between us, pushing this guy in the chest away from me. “Stop this s**t, Diego. They were talking about how to get to the beach and why you always have to be so stupid?) Dear God, I almost killed him when she touched him. This girl was fiery, and although I couldn't understand what she said, she was beyond pissed at him. She was 1.65m, standing tall to this big guy, and without a hint of fear in her. Even a human could sense authority from two alphas, but that didn't seem to faze her the least. "Miriam, this does not concern you!" he said harshly. She didn't even flinch. "Okay! Maybe if you were listening to their conversation instead of looking at that b***h's t**s. As if you've never seen a pair, you would know what they were talking about before jumping to conclusions!" Oh damn, please don't tell me she's his girlfriend! She was way too good for him, as a matter of fact, to every man! The idea she was his left me fuming! She left him speechless and then turned her back on him to face me. She is still looking about to kill someone, masking her anger. She gave me a forced a smile. "Hi! I'm Miriam. Sorry about my friend, we don't want any trouble." She said that with a confident expression but was betrayed by her blushing cheeks. That blush stirred something in my chest that made my heart ache. She looked me in the eyes, and there was something I couldn't explain, but it made me anxious. Her eyes were almond-shaped, a beautiful explosion of dark green with hints of brown. Her nose was small and pointy, like a fairy's nose, and I memorised the features of her face in my mind. Her skin was sun-kissed, her hair long, curly and dark brown with natural hazel shades grazing the ends. She was a lot shorter than me. She had a wild look in her eyes, but at the same time, it was caring and tender. I knew I would dream of her every night. My eyes descended to her lips, and I gulped down slightly. All I wanted to do was kiss her; she had rose-pulped lips. She wasn't wearing any make-up, she didn't need it, all her beauty was natural. "Arthur! Snap out of it! Say something, please. You're embarrassing me!" Cody's voice snapped me from the spell she put on me. Collecting my thoughts and clearing my throat, I smiled at her, "Hi, I'm Arthur, this is Cody, and we also don't want any trouble... We'll be going our way." I grabbed Cody by the arm and pulled him away with me. "I had it under control, man. No need for you to babysit me!" "Just shut up! You almost crossed the middle of human territory and started a pack war. That's pretty stupid, considering there are only two of us." "Oh, come on, man, you know it wasn't my fault! I was asking for directions when that guy showed up and pulled her forcibly by the arm! What would you have done in my place?" My expression turned dark, imagining he could do the same to Miriam. "Take his arms out!" I shouted. Cody stopped in his tracks, looking at me so shocked that it almost made me laugh. "What?" "Okay! What the actual f**k is going on, Arthur? Is it really you who I'm talking to? Tell me right now what's wrong! Wait... this why the human girl petrified you? Could she be....? Tell me, is this a joke? No way!" Why did he have to be so perceptive? He knew me very well. I was beyond control here; my emotions were all over the place. "Just... come on, let's go!" He threw his hands in the air with a stunted expression splashed on his face. "Oh, my Goddess, it really is her! Arthur, you found her?!" "Cody, stop yelling. Let's talk about this somewhere else... please."- surprised by my plea, he just nodded and followed me without further delay. When we got to our tents, I sat down on the forest floor, and he did the same. He was waiting for me to speak, and as I picked the right words, he said. "Look, I am sorry. I know I should have been more careful and maybe even avoided her. Still, she was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen!" - I was frozen, thinking he was talking about Miriam. “Who?” “The shewolf, Mafalda...” "Did you feel the mate bond?" "No! I wish! I would have made her Mine then and there!" - he answered quickly.- "All I know is I already miss her! You have to help me, man!" "Cody, listen to yourself! She lives in Portugal and is probably that d**k's girlfriend. This will only cause you a big mess and probably heartbreak for both of you. Is that really what you want?" "Arthur, I had never even considered that my fated would come one day. I have to try at least and see if it's her. I'm still seventeen, so that could be why I can't feel the bond. Don't bring your negativity into this...please!" - I signed in defeat. "What about you? She's yours, isn't she? You felt it?" I directed the conversation back to him as I tried to process what she was to me. "Fine, do as you wish! You were the one who said this was about having fun... and now you want to chase her?" I let my words sink into his mind while trying to find a way to dodge his question. "As for me, I don't know yet. I also know that I am not interested in her." Lying was easier than admitting what she was to me. His expression was incredulous while looking at me, "Man, you're lying to yourself. Do as you wish. I am here for you if you want to talk." I nodded, giving him a hint that it was too soon for that. "Why don't we head down to the beach? I'll shower later." it sounded like a great idea. "Yeah, let's go! I need to clear my mind." "To erase a certain scent from your nose?" "Cody leave it alone, man... let's go. Did you at least find out how to get there?" "Yes, I did. The bus leaves in 14 minutes." "So you are useful after all!" I got up, ruffling his hair. "I'll just put shorts on and grab my towel, and we're good to go." "Hey, take your filthy hands from my perfect hair! This takes time to achieve!" I went into my tent, laughing hard at his words.
