Chapter 6

917 Words
Amelia's POV   My body hurt like hell the only thing that has been keeping me from losing my mind is when Jasper and I text at night. He would text me through out the day, but I was never able to answer. I have been working my ass off like someone lit a fire under it. In the past two days I've successfully cleaned the whole house and that's saying a lot. My papa had originally designed the house of me and him, but after her remarried he changed it of her.  Originally the house was only the master bedroom, my room, a living room, a backyard with a tree house, and a kitten with a dining room as on room. Now, it is a master bed room with a master bath and walk in closet, two bedrooms with their own small bathroom and small walk in closet, three guest rooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, a backyard with a pool, and a garage big enough for 4 cars. Out of all of this the only thing I am thankful for is the garage because it has my papa's 1969 black Chevrolet Camaro. My papa got around the time before he met my mama.  After I had cleaned the house Rebecca gave me a list of party stuff she wanted me to get for her. I had to go to seven different stores to get everything that she wanted. When I had gotten back from the store she had left a note telling me she was out with Hayley at the spa and that I needed to take the dresses to the dry cleaners. I did, but I was much more happy about the fact that Hayley was out of the house so she couldn't pour more ice coffee on me. That didn't stop Branden from leaving his sports stuff all over the house again and again.  I walk into Ray's Wash and Dry to pick up the dresses. "There's my favorite lady!" Ray says joyfully.  Ray is the owner of Ray's Wash, and Dry, he's in his late fifties. He has salt and pepper hair due to his age, but his light green eyes make him look younger than he is. "Ciao, Ray. I'm here to pick up the dresses." I say. He just nods, "Do you have time of tea with this poor old man." He asks while getting the dresses out. "That would be wonderful, but I can only stay a few minutes." I say heading into the back with him.  I've known Ray since I was about fifteen, I went to his wife's funeral. They never were able to have kids so I was like a child to them. Me and him had tea, I told him about Max and Jasper. He gave me really good advice that might help me later on. I collected the dresses, I was about to leave when he said something to me. "Don't let those who have hurt you ruin your heart."  I finally made it back in time for Rebecca and Hayley to arrive back at the house. They told me to fallow them with the dresses to the master bedroom that was Rebecca's. Rebecca made me go through all 163 pairs of heels to find ones that matched her dresses to try on. The first dress I help Rebecca try on was a tight floor length red dress, next was a white ball gown that showed a little too much on the top. I helped her with three more before she chose the fifth or sixth dress, I think, I lost count around dress number 8. She chose the blue floor length gown that showed way too much of everything.  I also had to help Hayley, but after 15 dresses she was in the middle of complaining that the dresses made her look fat. "Mom. What am I going to do? I can't walk around looking like a fat cow." Hayley wined. "Amelia. Go get the dresses out from the attic." Rebecca order.  I stopped for a moment before her words fully registered in my mind. "But those dresses are my mama's that she left to me." I say.  That seemed to piss Rebecca off more than I ever thought was possible, she slow started to back me up against the wall as she slowly walked towards me. "You will do as I say, I still am in charge of your trust fund until you're 25 and I can easily make every penny in that account disappear. Now, go get the dresses out of the attic." She smirked.  I went all the to the back of the attic that was also my room, I started to pull out the dresses. I haven't moved them since my papa moved them up here when we first moved in. I was about to make my third trip downstairs when I saw a wooden chest. The chest was old and cracked in some places, but it was still in really good condition. I was afraid to open it, I undid the locks and opened it. On the top was a photo album, I opened the cover to see pictures of my parents when they where younger with different people the more pages I flipped the more I saw of my mama and papa together. "AAMMEELLIIAAAAA!!!!" Rebecca called out. I quickly put the album back and closed the chest. I grabbed the last few dresses and hurried downstairs.
