Mia sat curled up on her bed, her back resting against the headboard, biting the edge of her thumb absentmindedly. She had been like that after she had a cold bath that morning, clothed in an oversized T-shirt that hung loosely on her body. The sleeves were so big they almost swallowed her hands, her knees drawn up tightly to her chest.
