CHAPTER I

1275 Words
4 years later ... Here I am again, standing on the ground of my hometown. After that night, I walked home with a puffy eyes, broken heart and a messy head. I cried everything to my mom until I can sleep. The next few days were very hard, I lost all my confidence. I keep crying in my room and I wasn't able to sleep well because I kept getting nightmares from that night. I don't have the appetite to eat, my health declined. My mom decided for us to go abroad, leave the pack and live among humans, sacrificing her and her wolf's freedom. She thought a new environment can help me heal. Our Alpha gave us the permission to leave for the meant time. On that day onwards, I don't have any news from the pack, or from Goldy. Although I'm missing her, I did not tried to communicate with her again, well not until today. I can't say my journey of healing is easy, since it took a lot of me, of my courage to step outside again, mingle with humans and gain my confidence back. In those days I would always ask the Goddess, why I am like this? Am I a bad child? Did I do something to deserve this? And none of these have been answered. To stimulate my confidence, I tried going to a university. It isn't actually so bad. I learned a lot, and I realized that I got really overboard with Silver before. I harassed him without knowing. In my defense though, werewolves are actually a territorial species, especially with the things they considered theirs, and of course I was still young at that time. I thought the world revolves around me, but of course this won't justified what I did. If it was me, it would be really scary. I stalked him a lot, I took advantages of him, of his kindness to me, and I always shooed a lot of girls that fancied him. I did made a lot of rumors about him and me, so no one would dare to seduce him. I did nasty, and I felt sorry for him. And yeah, I reap what I sow, I got the rejection, and I wasn't able to shift. But, on my 21st birthday, after all the shits I have been through, I was able to shift. After mom and I celebrated my birthday, since I am not really expecting anything and this day also reminds me of my misery, I went to sleep at 10 o'clock. I was woke with an excruciating pain at 12 midnight, my bones were cracking and I can hear a voice inside of my head. I am shifting. "Calm down, Aqua, it will be fine later, trust me." "Who are you?" "I'm pearl, I'm your wolf. I'm sorry it took me a while." Pearl is a pretty white wolf. She's huge, not a normal size. She's also really fast and strong. It's a good thing that we live in a secluded community and it has a lot of woods, I was able to shift without our neighbors noticing. After Pearl and I got to know each other, I apologized to her because we lost our mate. She was heartbroken, and she whimpered all day. It took her months to get over it. Though she didn't blame me, I know it is my fault. After a year we decided to go back to our pack to undergo training for being a warrior. I also thought it's time for me to go back. Good timing too, we were also called back because Silver will going to assume the position of the Alpha at the next full moon. I guess he had already chosen his own Luna among those woman who don't have a mate. I'm happy for him but I don't want to associate myself with him anymore. "Aqua! Oh my Goddess! I miss you!" Goldy said in a high pitch running towards my direction. I beam at her, and she jumps and hugs me tight. I also embrace her firmly, which made her cry. "Stop crying, my Goddess, you're still such a child." I said chuckling but also tearing a little. "How could you say that!" she pouted, losing her hug. "Just kidding, anyway so your mate is Oliver huh?" I tease her, looking at the guy at her back. He's watching us with a timid smile. Oliver's been her crush since little. He's 3 years older than us and he's a smart guy. He's really cute back then, a shy handsome guy but also a gentleman. Goldy chuckles as a response and gazes at her man. "Such luck right?" she stated happily. Oliver smiles at his mate lovingly. Goddess! They deserve each other. Such a cute couple. "Gosh, don't make the single one jealous." I joked at them, and they both laughed at me. "I'm glad that you are back now, Aqua." Oliver stated and I said my thanks. My day was made with the couple's stories, me story-telling them what happened and my future goals. At night mom invited them for a dinner, which they happily accepted. The next day, I went to the pack house to inquire for my training, hoping I wouldn't cross path with Silver anytime soon. I went to the office of the head warrior, and ask him if I could join his trainees, if I could be his student. Warrior Homer is one the most respected man in our pack. He's a survivor of the great war and he already brought a lot of victory for the pack. He trained most of our skilled warriors. But, it's not easy to get him to train you, since he would pick himself those wolves who he deems worthy of the title Most Skilled Warrior. He's really picky and strict. "You want to be my student, Miss—?" "Fritz, Sir." "Fritz ... you are a Fritz, are you Aqua?" He looks like he remembers something. "Yes, Sir. I'm the daughter of Azure Fritz." I responded. "So, you are his daughter. Took you a while to come see me, little one. Usually at this time of the year, I'm already not accepting any student. But, let see if you inherited your father's will and power." he said, as if he knows I'll gonna come to ask for him. He looks happy though. "Follow me." We went to his own training ground and was greeted with men. Yeah, men, because there is no girl in here, and I think they are only around 16. Also, they are not my batch. Is my batch that weak? The training ground is like a gym, but it has an arena which I guess they do all their battle training. "Take a break, warriors!" Mr. Homer's words echoed to the place and they all stopped. They looked at us with such a suspicious face. As if they heard something they shouldn't heard. They all look funny. "Did the Goddess gave you a good day, Sir?!" someone from the group asks, dumbfounded. Everyone nods, agreeing with what they heard. Sir Homer on the other hand looks annoyed. "Get over it. I need the training ground right now." the head warrior said shooing them away. "Ohh, are we gonna see a fight?" someone asks and everyone looks excited. Indeed they're werewolves. "No watching for everyone, get lost." I froze when I heard that voice. He's here. Coming from the door, he's walking closer at our place. He's oozing with authority, he's looking at me with those menacing eyes. 'Am I really this unlucky?'
