Chapter 1.20

1864 Words
Kathleen Remes’ POV When morning came, I was staring at my husband’s handsome face in a new light. I was looking at his high cheekbones, his disheveled black hair that covered his forehead as he was breathing softly while he was asleep. I traced my fingers against his chin and strong jaws before I was playing with his eyelashes. It was long and thick that made other women sigh, wishing for one like her. “I don’t think playing with my lashes would be enough for you, my love,” he said as he opened his eyes. I pulled back my fingers as I smiled sweetly at him. He took my fingers and kissed them. “Now what do we have here? I thought I might be moved to another bed this morning,” he said as he went on top of me. I was laughing at his caveman attitude before he kissed me. I snaked my hands on his chest before someone knocked on the door. “Milady, master. There is a message for you,” John said behind the closed door. Kai looked at me like he was smirking. “Should I answer that or you?” He asked me. I looked at our naked bodies that were tangled under the sheet. “I don’t think you want John to look at my naked body, do you?” I said as I rubbed his chest. He growled. “Damn right you are,” he said before he kissed me again, roughly this time. “Milady, master?” John’s voice was coming again from the other side of the room. “I think we should get him or he will never let us get in our privacy,” Kai said before he got out of bed. He stood naked as I looked at his ass before he took the robe and dressed. I pulled the duvet to my chest to hide my body as Kai answered the door. “Good morning, John,” he said before he took something and closed the door again. He turned to look at me, confusion was all over his face as he gave me the letter. “What is it?” I asked him before he handed me the letter. “I don’t know, but perhaps your impeccable knowledge might tell us something,” he said as I opened the letter before looking at him. It stated; Mr. And Mrs. Virtanen. I, King Aaron Remes, have personally invited you to live at the Royal Castle for your training and mentor you on how to be King and Queen. I hope that this letter will make you consider coming to the castle at once. On behalf of King Aaron Remes I turned to look at Kai who was looking at me. “Well?” He asked me as I folded the letter back. I sighed before taking the duvet as I got out of bed. “Oh no, you don’t,” Kai said as he took my wrists and pushed me back onto the bed. I shrieked, not because I was afraid, but because I was laughing at his caveman style. “You made me wake up early in the morning already,” I said as I looked at his towering body over my naked body. The robe has been discarded. He smirked at me. “Well, you can never be satisfied with just thrice a night,” he said as he went to kiss my collarbone. I sighed because he was right. I was not sated with only that amount with him. “So, what do you say, my love? Care to give in to your husband?” Kai asked huskily against my left ear as he left a trail of kisses against my skin. They were burning with an intensity that only Kai knew how to make go away. Damn him and his notorious way of making me want him more and more. “I don’t know, my love. We must reply to the letter that my father sent me,” I said as I waved the letter in front of him. Kai took it before he threw it over his head. “We will take care of that later, but for now, you must take care of me,” he said huskily as he went to kiss my smiling lips and indulged in the passion of our bodies needed. After that morning session in bed, Kai left for his studies as he got a phone call about a business deal that I didn’t want to know. Sometimes, I just wish he would not be spending so much time there, but perhaps I have some time for myself as well. I went to look at the letter, again and again, trying to make out what my father was talking about. Why did he want us to be in the Royal Castle? My sister would never approve of that arrangement. She would think that I was trying to get her rightful place as Queen. Even though I already was. I sighed before I rang my father. It took a few rings before his secretary answered. “Good morning, Your Highness,” he, Mr. Jansen said. “I need to speak with my father,” I said. “One moment,” he said before he connected me to the other line, the one that they thought might be secured but there would be people listening. I learned that lesson the hard way. “Hello?” My father said to me. “Hello father, listen, I cannot talk much but I will try to make it as simple as I can,” I said in Russian. My father’s father was from Russia, which meant I talked to my grandfather in Russian as well as my father. It would be our little secret to talk about something without people knowing what it was about. It was the security that we developed to get the eavesdroppers not understanding a thing. We make sure that our employees around the castle do not speak another language except for the ones that they can, but not Russian. It was strictly forbidden for them unless it was me, my father or my grandfather. My sister learned it as well, but she did not like it as she thought it was not sophisticated like French or Italian. I guess my sister only loved Romance languages more. “Well, what do you want to ask me?” My father asked me. I sighed before I told him. I closed my eyes to calm my nerves and I will try to make it less obvious than it already was. “Why do you want me and Kai to spend our time at the Royal Castle? You know it was for the Crown Princess and her future Prince Consort only,” I said to him. He sighed. He must know that I would never agree to move into the same house as my sister. It happened when she betrayed me 5 years ago. “Daughter, I only want you close to me as my time of reigning will be over soon and you will be the one that took my place,” he said. I rolled my eyes at him. “Well, that is not much an excuse to change my residency now. You have already established to me that I will be spending time here, at the Summer Estate, for the rest of my time and, now that I am the future Queen, do you want me to go there? No, thank you, sir,” I said as I was pacing back and forth in my bedroom. “You have to, it’s the tradition that—“ “The tradition also said that the Crown Princess will be the one that will be replaced after the last monarch steps down. But no, you have to make me the future Queen,” I said as I was looking outside the window of my bedroom. I gripped onto the bar as I was trying to see myself living in my old bedroom in the Royal Castle. Would it be the same as if I left them 5 years ago or would I be staying in another place? My father sighed, meaning I was winning this argument with him. “Fine, daughter, but I will let this one slide until more pressing matters come before you are moved into the castle, even if I have to do it with my own hands,” he said, before I smiled as I released the bar. “Thank you, father,” I said as I closed my eyes, relief throughout my body. “Until next time, I have to get matters at hand,” my father replied. “Yes, of course, next time,” I said before I ended the call. I looked at the window and the setting sun that was on the horizon. I heard footsteps from the door as it was closed. The heat from behind made me lean into it. “I didn’t know you speak Russian as well,” Kai said in Russian as he was kissing my neck. I angled it to the side so that he had more access to my skin. “Well,” I said as I turned around and pushed him toward the bed. He was smirking as he could read desire in my eyes. “It looks like those conversations were worth something to me after all,” Kai said as he threw himself on the bed and I struck his stomach. “You can say that again,” I said before grabbing his mouth in an enticing kiss that would lead us more. Unknown’s POV Damn it, damn it, damn it! How could Aaron do such a thing even after his wife’s death only a few weeks after that? He was planning to make Katherine the one that would reign, giving the princess the right title and all the privileges with it. I need to think straight, I cannot let anger consume me. A knock brought me back to reality. “Come in,” I said as I was trying to formulate a counter-attack this time. “Ah, you’ve come. As I expected,” I said. “Yes, Your Grace,” my nephew replied to me. I smiled at him. I had more faith in this boy, but with recent events, I don’t know if I have chosen the right one. “Well, what can you say about your little visit to the palace?” I said after I hugged him and led him into my study. “Well, I heard the king has made his decision to make sure that Katherine will be the Queen. They have been preparing her with lots of classes about etiquette and history and politics and so much more that I cannot remember,” my nephew said as we walked through the door. So, my nephew did not know that yet. No matter, I will make sure that Katherine was the one that ended up on the throne with Chris by her side, my chosen one.
