Antonio Romano’s POV
After our visit to my childhood home and meeting with my mother, I was beyond happy that I cannot believe my mother liked my fiancée. Well, I should be getting used to that term now, because I know Christina would not hesitate to say yes when I proposed to her.
And it will be sometime soon.
I just have to find the right time and the right place. I wanted her to know that she was special and, close to my heart, that I was willing to do anything for her.
Keynote: anything at all.
So, I have been instructing my men to put her stuff inside my room, as I know she would not have any objection to sleeping in the same bed as me.
“No,” Christina said as she was crossing her hands in front of her chest.
“Excuse me, did I hear you say no?” I asked her as she was glaring at me.
“Tony, what would people think? You know I’m not that kind of woman,” she hissed at me as I was rubbing my face with my hands.
“But, bella, they don’t know that unless you tell them,” I said.
“Urgh, excuse me. I don’t share my personal information with just anyone,”
“But you shared with me too much information for your interview as well,” I said as I was smirking at her. She grunted before she went out of the bedroom.
“Where are you going?” I asked.
“To get as far away as possible from you!” She shouted before I ran after her.
“Christina, we have established our feelings, what was so wrong with sleeping together?” I asked her as I was walking behind her before she turned sharply at me.
“Oh, I’m sorry if I was not like another guy that you have slept with,” she snapped.
“I don’t sleep with guys. Do you think I’m gay?”
“Well, aren’t you?” She screamed before I was chuckling at her accusation.
“Well, I let you slide on that comment, but you can never say that to a gay person. They might get offended,” I said before I was holding her wrist as she was ready to go away.
“Let me go,”
“Not until you agree to sleep with me in the same bed.”
“I am not a w***e,” she said as I was blinking at her. She was breathing heavily before we were staring at each other.
“Is that what you think?”
“ That’s what I know,” she shouted before I took a murderous step toward her.
“Oh, so now you wanted to be intimidating. Great, just great,” she said before I pulled her closer to me. She shrieked.
“I would never see you as a w***e, bella. You’re mine and when others looked at you, I wanted to rip their eyes out because they were checking out what’s mine,” I growled at her.
“What’s making you so sure that I will be yours?” She said defiantly. I chuckled darkly as I was looking at her timid figure.
“If I was to touch you down there, would I find you to be wet and ready for me, Bella?” I purred as I was caressing her jaws with my mouth. She stiffed.
Good.
She was trying to avoid the question as she was trying to push me away. I will not let you go that easy, my Violet.
“Well, I think I have my answer then,” I said before I was scooping her up in a bridal style before I was striding toward the bedroom.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She asked as she was trying to get away.
“Easy, bella. I just wanted to test whether my hypothesis is right or not.”
“Tony,” she hissed before I looked at her.
“So, will you be sleeping with me or should I go with the hypothesis again?” I asked as I was arching my eyebrows at her. She sighed before she crossed her arms again as a sign of defiance.
“Okay, fine. You win. But we will just be sleeping. Nothing more,” she said as she was pointing her finger at me.
“But if you want more, you only need to ask, Bella,” I purred at her.
“Only in your dreams, Romano,” she said before she went to put a pillow between us as we were sleeping tonight. But in the morning, I knew that she would be in my arms and smiling.
And my guess was right.
After that sleeping position that Christina woke up in, she told me to go ahead to the boutique first before I was teasing her again.
“I swear you did it one more time, Tony—“
“Or what?” I asked as I was looking at her.
“I will wear shorts to the boutique,” she said with her chin up. I think I don’t like confident Christina, at all.
“You would not dare,” I growled before her eyes were twinkling with mischief.
“Try me,” she said, and with that, I gave in. I went to the boutique earlier than her so that people would not be suspicious of our relationship.
Especially the paparazzi.
I walked into the boutique with a new sense of resolution. The reception party for Kyle Conti's marriage was a success. I didn’t know what to feel, but I knew that it would be a success anyway. It was the second time that I had dealt with the Conti’s family as well as Giovanni’s. I think I can call myself good luck with the business.
“Ah! Can you feel the good luck that was coming to this business, girls?” I asked as I was sipping my morning coffee. I was feeling bold today.
“Yeah, it’s great, sir,” one of my staff said before I went inside my office. I closed the door as I put my coffee mug on the table before opening my laptop. I went to open my email as it was the first thing that I could do.
“Let’s see what we have today,” I said before I went to look at the list and the next customer that I had. As I was busy looking at the list, a phone rang.
I had not heard it for a long time, but I was shocked to hear it. I quickly took it inside the drawer that I had locked up for many years as I couldn’t open it.
“Damn it!” I cursed, as I knew I would be in trouble if I failed to get it on time. The drawer’s key was nowhere to be found before I smashed the drawer and took out the phone before answering it.
“Yes,” I said in Hungarian, as I almost forgot the language.
“Romano, we have a situation,” the end of the line said before I drew a deep breath. I guess the list has to wait for today.
“What is it?” I asked as I was staring at the door. I had to lock it before someone else, especially Christina, barged in when I was talking in Hungarian.
“The Princess was missing,” the caller said as I drew a sharp breath. I don’t know what to say to that because it has been years since I heard that word.
Princess Christine Rovski.
She was hidden from the world as the King and Queen of Hungary did not want to worry about her.
Not when she had been kidnapped when she was 20 years old.
“And what do you want me to do? You know I am out of this business now,” I said as I was pinching my nose.
“I know but the King has requested your service,” he said. I sighed before I was looking at Milan city.
“I see what I can do about Christine.”
“It’s Princess Christine and I wanted you to call it like that whenever we talk about her,” he hissed before I rolled my eyes at him.
“Well, I am not a Hungarian citizen anymore. So, I will call her whatever I want,”
“But your father is still in this country and if he gets a whiff that you disrespect the royal family, you know what will happen.”
“Then, let him hear it, I am not a kid anymore,” I said before I hung up the phone. My anger was rising as it had been 5 years, 5 f*****g years that I did not concern myself with him or with my home country.
And I think I just bought my ticket home.
Christine Rovski’s POV
Shit!
My father knew about my disappearance. I needed to get out of here. Away from everyone. Away from the spotlight. Away from my love. I sighed as I was closing the door. I heard what my love was talking about.
I needed to get away from it as soon as possible.
So, I did what most reasonable people would do in that situation. I called my friend from the other hand.
“Hello?” Her sweet voice was answering the phone.
“Alicia, I need your help,” I said as I was looking at the city with a new light. I have to disappear again and this time no more lurking around my love.
It will be a dangerous game that we both don’t want to play.
