Chapter 1.8

1823 Words
Kathleen Remes’ POV I went out of the room and went to the rooftop of the castle. It has always been a sanctuary for me and I felt calm when I went there. I took a deep breath as it was a nice night and I just looked at the city’s lights that were glistening at the end of the mountain. “How nice to escape from here,” I said as I was sipping on my wine. The dress that I wore was thin enough as I was chilling to the bone as the wind was blowing right. Suddenly, someone was putting a coat on my shoulder and I was startled to find out that. I turned around and I saw Chris smiling at me. “Hey,” he said as he took his place next to me on the balcony. “Hey yourself,” I said as I was looking out into the moonlight. “Why are you here? Come to think about something? Maybe about the wedding?” He said as he nudged me on the shoulder. I smiled as I was chuckling at his playfulness. “Shut up,” I said as I took a sip of my wine. It has gone cold. Chris sighed as he looked at the moonlight. “I have been engaged for more than 2 years now but you’re the one that got married first. How unfair,” he said as he was leaning on the balcony as his face was looking at the sky. “I never expected that I would be married in 2 weeks,” I said, as I was doing the same thing as Chris. “You know, I never get to tell you who my crush is,” he said as he was looking at the sky. I turned to look at him as he was looking at me now. I smiled at him. “Who was it? Is it someone that I knew?” I asked, interested to know about the person that stole his heart away. Chris just smiled as he went to get off the rooftop. “You have to dig about that then. Besides, you’re good at it,” Chris said as he went out through the door and I was left alone again. After I had been quite some time on the rooftop to calm my nerves, I went inside to get my warmth back. I held close to the coat that was given to me. I knew that I could feel Chris’ warmth on it before I heard someone talking about something. “We cannot do it now, since that little minx has come home. We have to strike when she is not around,” a voice said as I was eavesdropping behind the walls. “You bet. I think if we strike when she was around, she will make our plan fail like 5 years ago,” another voice said. “Agreed. We can never know where she might be lurking around,” a voice said before their footsteps faded away. I held to my heart as I was hiding from the door that they might come in. I didn’t recognize what the voices were doing, but I knew what they planned on doing. I have to warn others, but I have to make a very careful plan as I don’t want the accident of 5 years ago to repeat itself. I don’t know who to turn to, but I know for sure whom I can tell. My future husband, Kai Virtanen. Kai Virtanen’s POV After dinner, I went to look for Kathleen but she was nowhere to be found. I don’t know where else to go as I don’t know about this castle after all. I knew that I was entitled to move around it but I didn’t want to be impolite to the king and queen of Finland, the land of the mighty. “Hey, are you alright, Kai?” A voice interrupted me from my thoughts as I was wondering about Kathleen. “Yes, I think so. Why do you think otherwise, Kate?” I asked, but I knew who it was. “I'm just concerned since you’re distracted,” she said as she was smiling happily at me. I smiled at her as well, but I don’t know why my heart didn’t feel anything after she smiled at me. Before I knew Kathleen, I would always be nervous around Katherine, but this time, I did not. I wondered what had happened there. “Do you have some time for now or are you busy?” She asked me as she was smiling sweetly at me. “No, no. I’m not busy. I can’t find Kathleen anywhere as I don’t know where she went,” I said as I was looking around the painting room. “Would you like to go for a walk?” Kate asked. I thought this was a part of the plan that Kathleen told me, so I just nodded at her. “Shall we?” She said as she offered her hand to hold my arm. I just went with it as we went outside the painting room. We were cruising along with the castle as it was chilly outside. I didn’t know what I should do in this situation, so I just kept quiet. “So, how do you know Kathleen?” Katherine asked me as she was looking at me. I looked at her before speaking my mind. “Honestly, I just met her 2 days ago. I didn’t know her when we first got engaged as she went to prison at that time,” I said as I was walking as I followed Katherine around the castle. I have a very bad sense of direction. “So, what do you think of her after meeting her?” Katherine asked again as she was looking at me. “I don’t know. I never thought about it,” I said, but my mind was telling me something else. Something that I never thought about her that way before. You’re lying, Virtanen. You know what you feel about her, my mind stated. “My sister might look like she had a very bad reputation with people and all, but she was good, deep down. I can promise you that,” she said before she stopped in front of the door and turned to look at me. “What do you think about me, then?” Katherine suddenly asked. I was startled at the question. I blinked my eyes at her. “What do you mean?” I said as I was knotting my eyebrows together. “She made some changes to her appearance. Don’t you notice? She colored her hair like me, because you know, deep down, you are in love with me, don’t you?” Katherine said as she was looking at me. I chuckled nervously as she was coming to me and didn’t know what to say. “Come on, Kai. I know you want me, so why don’t we get off this s****l tension around us?” she whispered as she was pulling my face closer and closer to her face. I don’t know what to do as I was never in this situation before. “I think you were so close to my fiancé that he was uncomfortable, sister,” a voice interrupted us as Katherine looked behind me. “Oh well, he had something in his eyes, sister. Not that I want to kiss him. I have my own man for that,” she said as she pushed me to the side. Kathleen came to my side with a coat that I was sure was not mine. “What’s this, sister? Don’t tell me you went to my man when your man was with me?” Katherine said sweetly, but I knew that she was controlling her anger. Kathleen smirked at her before taking off the coat and giving it to Katherine. “Not that I want it, but Chris was kind enough to lend it to me when I was on the rooftop just now. It was chilly. How thoughtful of him,” Kathleen said as she linked her hands to my arms. I loved the feel of her breasts on me. Wait, what? “Well, if you excuse us, we have to go now since Kai will be spending the night at my castle tonight,” Kathleen said sweetly as she was looking at me with hooded eyes. “ Am I?” I asked before she pinched my arm. “Of course, I am. I would love to spend so much time together with my fiancée since it has been so long since we were separated,” I said as I looked at Kathleen and she was looking at me with a warning in her eyes. Play along with me, her eyes said. I was chuckling as we were looking at each other. “Very well, if you excuse me, I have to find Chris. Where is he?” Katherine said as she went past Kathleen and touched her shoulder. “Mission accomplished,” Kathleen whispered as she snaked her arms around me. “What are you doing?” I asked nervously, as I didn’t know what she would do after that. “Is she looking?” Kathleen asked. I looked at her. “Who?” I asked. I didn’t know who she referred to. “My sister. Is she looking?” She asked again as I was looking at her face, but I could see that Katherine, her twin, was looking at us. “Yeah,” I whispered to her. “Good,” she said before pulling me and our lips touched. It was incredible and amazing. I have touched so many women’s lips but it was never perfect like hers. Kathleen was moving as she was instructing me to move along with her. I obliged and the feelings exploded. I could always get used to this. After what felt like an eternity, Kathleen decided to break the kiss. “Is she gone?” She asked, but I was dizzy as I could only see her lips. “Who?” I said. “My sister,” she hissed at me. “Don’t worry, just don’t stop,” I said before I grabbed her mouth again, and pushed her to the wall. She grunted as her back made contact and I just kept kissing her mouth. I asked for entrance for my tongue and she allowed it. I f****d her mouth like no other as I could taste her sweet scent of honey and vanilla. “Kai,” she moaned as I went to kiss her jaw and neck before someone cleared their throat behind us. I looked to my right and saw Kathleen’s father, King Aaron, looking at me. Oh Lord, help us!
