Christina Dobulski’s POV
I think this was a bad idea. I cannot believe that I failed at doing some basic stuff that a PA should be able to do. I was such a loser. I can’t even prepare the tea right.
“Maybe you should fire me and find someone else. I can only bring more trouble to you, Tony,” I whispered as I looked at my bandaged hand. It was horrible and I think tears were pooling in my eyes.
“Hey,” Tony said as he was pulling my chin to look into his eyes. They were so warm and softened that I wanted to cry so much in front of him but I had to hold so.
“You’re not that bad. Maybe a few mishaps here and there, but you’re learning. Why don’t you tell me more about your life in Hungary? Don’t you help your parents do chores?” He asked as he was searching for my eyes. I averted his eyes and looked at something else, if I was feeling shy under his watchful gaze.
“Well, my parents were never around to help me or do anything. I raised myself,” I said as I sniffed.
“Are you an orphan?” He asked, as he was confused about why I had to do it myself. I laughed at that before he arched his eyebrows as I was looking at his handsome face. His girlfriend would be so lucky.
“Well, no. They were…busy most of the time,” I said as I was playing with my fingers as I was fidgeting. Tony noticed that as he stopped my hands from playing around. He held my hands in his. It was wonderful to touch.
At least for me.
“Well, I think you were a good child, Christina. You are a survivor as you can handle anything when your parents are too busy for you,” he said as he was caressing my knuckles. I can’t help but think that I wish this moment would be forever.
But I heard he preferred another gender. I sighed. And he thought that I was a child. I can never be anything else to him other than someone that he has to take care of.
“What you can’t do right will never stop you from trying, right?” He asked as I looked up at his brown orbs. I bit my lips before I nodded at him. He smiled at me.
“Good. Now, no more sadness. You are wonderful, Christina, and you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I know you are,” he said as he hugged me. He caressed my hair if I was too stiff to do anything. Since when did Tony hug me? Or enjoy touching females?
“Well, enough about that. Let’s get you clean up,” Tony said as he was smoothing my hair. I was looking at his face as he was smiling and concentrating on making my hair manageable. I chuckled at his gesture.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing. It’s just…no one ever touched my hair before,” I said as I was smiling at him. He arched his eyebrows as he was looking at my face. Okay, maybe more like analyzing me under his gaze before he snapped his fingers at me.
“You know what would be fun?” He asked me as I was terrified to hear his answer.
“I hope it’s nothing serious,” I said as he shook his head.
“Well, I think I want to give you a makeover.”
“A what?” I asked, as I was not familiar with his terms yet. He rolled his eyes at me before he was holding my shoulders.
“A makeover, bella. You would look fabulous after that and maybe you will be more confident after that,” he said as he was smiling at me. I smiled awkwardly, didn’t want to stand out. I was comfortable the way I was right now.
Besides, I needed to keep a low profile.
“Maybe it was not the time yet. I don’t think I want it now.”
“Why not? Everyone loves to have a makeover by Antonio Romano,” he said as he was holding his chin high. I laughed at his gesture before he smiled at me.
“I know they do, but I was not one of your clients. I am your PA, so I don’t need to have a makeover. I can be efficient and still no one will give a damn about it,” I said as Tony was looking at me.
“What do you mean by that?” He asked as I was looking at him like I was not on the same page with him.
Maybe I was not.
His eyes were telling me that if I didn’t tell you anything right now, I thought I would be dead by morning, though I thought of the curling irons and hairpray of this guy.
“Uh, well, you know how people love to see you whenever you are around and maybe take some pictures with you. If I was pretty, rhetorically, and stood beside you, it would create scandal and I know how much you love your private life. I don’t want to risk it,” I said as I was trying to get away from him. He was blocking my exit from the bathroom.
“Well, I didn’t think it was like that before,” he mumbled before I looked at him.
“What?” I asked as he was talking to himself right now before he turned to look at me and smiled.
“Well, I think you are correct. I have never heard anyone tell me that before. So, you might just open another opportunity for my new creation,” he said as he went out of the room. I did not understand what he meant by that, but I just let it slide.
“Okay, enough Ted Talk. We should get back to work.” He said before he ushered me out of the bathroom and took me to my desk. He was afraid that I would be stupid and clumsy again.
“I am fine, Tony. I can walk by myself, thank you very much,” I said before he pushed me into my seat and I looked at him. He smiled at me as if he was satisfied with his handiwork.
“Okay, now be a good girl and don’t get up from the desk,” he said as he was looking at me.
“Well, what if I wanted to go to the bathroom?”
“You will have to shout for me and I will come to assist you.”
“Uh, no thank you. I can handle it myself,” I said as I was shaking my head before Tony laughed. It was a genuine laugh and I think I was smiling in response to that.
“Well, you have some more paperwork to be done and I think that should take up all morning. No all-nighter and I will make sure of that,” he said as he pointed his finger at me. I was rolling my eyes at him before he went to his side of the office. I think I can get used to this playful side of Tony and I think I wanted to be on this side forever.
Antonio Romano’s POV
I was looking at some of the suggestions for the reception of Duke Giovanni’s wedding. I cannot believe it will be our stepping stone for my boutique to be internationally recognized. I have to thank the Finnish princess as well for my hair styling service. I will be visiting her next month.
I was looking at my computer when I heard a loud crash on the other side of the room. I rushed to the door that was separating the office space between me and Christina. It was for my sanity, anyway. I never felt like I wanted to keep her close to me all the time.
Maybe it was for a change in space.
“Christina?” I asked as I looked into the room and there was no sign of her. I panicked as I could see many possible things that would be happening to my beloved Christina. There were so many possibilities.
Was she hurt?
Can she move?
Was she dead?
And I think the last part of my question was driving me insane as I was running toward the pantry to see that she was covered with cocoa powder and flour. I mean, how can she get into a mess all the time? I cannot comprehend her clumsiness.
“What are you doing?” I asked her before Christina turned with her big, pale grey eyes that sucked me in.
“Tea?” She asked innocently as she was holding a bag of tea in her hand. I sighed as I looked at her adorable state of flour in her blonde hair and her teeth were showing to me. I think my d**k just twitched in my pants as I cleared my throat, drawing her eyes to my face.
“I can show you how to make the tea just how I like it,” I said as I was shifting on my feet so that she would not see my b***r sticking out for her.
“Really?” She asked as her eyes were shining like the stars in the night sky. And I think I smiled at her as I just wanted that smile only for me, forever.
And I was willing to do anything to keep it.
