Chapter 3.2

1653 Words
5 years later… Charles Debrun’s POV I don’t know what went wrong. I was in the right place for everything to be perfect. My wedding to Sophia, my lab was successful and I was building an empire when Sabrina Dubois and her boyfriend, Nathan White, destroyed everything. I was coughing as I was running outside the lair as it was about to self-destruct. I don’t know what came over me, as I was dizzy all over before a voice came into my eardrums. 'Hello, doctor,’ a familiar voice was calling to me. I looked up to see who it was but I could make it out as she was wearing a fedora. She took off the fedora before she threw it away. ‘It never looked good on me. I just did that for the dramatic entrance,’ her British accent was showing in her talk as she was coming at me. ‘You? I thought you were—’ I said before I was interrupted by her. ‘Dead? Oh, doctor, you have so much to learn than just listen to what my parents told you, but I could say the same about you, doctor. You look well instead of being six feet underground,’ she said as I could hear the alarm was about to blow up. ‘Look, we need to get out of here. Now,’ I said as she was casually walking toward me. ‘Why the rush, doctor? We have just seen each other after 5 years between your death and mine. Why not we get to know each other a little? After all, you owed me that,’ she said as she pulled me closer before she kissed me on my lips. And just like that, the view was gone from my sight. It was magical. More magical than I could ever have with Sabrina or Sophia. They were extraordinary but this one, these lips, this woman, it was out of this world. I moaned and groaned as I knew that I might be getting into something little more dangerous than it already was. After that kiss, I knew that I had gone somewhere else. I don’t know where, but when I opened my eyes, Kiara was standing in front of me. ‘Welcome back, doc,’ she said as I looked around the room. It was the first lab that I ever worked in and with the people that I used to know. ‘Why did you bring me here?’ I asked her as she was leaning on the wall. ‘It is I that asked her to bring you here,’ a voice came from the dark before it revealed who he was. ‘You! I thought you were…’ was the last thing I said as I looked at him. ‘What, dead? Oh, death was only a fragment of time but knowledge lasts forever, don’t you agree, my dear Doctor?’ He said as he smiled wickedly at me. I was lost for words. This man and this woman that I just shared a kiss with, would end my life now. ‘Why looked so solemn, Doc? I thought you liked our reunion,’ the woman in fedora said before she took it off. She did not change after that moment that we shared in her office. She looked different back then. She was timid, shy and introverted. But now, I can sense that she has been more confident than ever. ‘What do you want?’ I asked as I was standing still on my feet. The man that I only knew as Boss was looking at me, smirking from his high chair. ‘We need you for something that only you can give to us,’ he said as he crossed his arms. I arched my eyebrows at him. ‘And is that?’ I asked him. ‘Ms. Kiara Hoffman will be doing the explanation. I hope that’s okay with you, considering that you two had—‘ he was cut off before I heard that again. ‘Yes, we are fine. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have something to discuss with Ms. Hoffman,’ I said as I looked at her. She was leaning on the table as she was eyeing me before she got up and walked toward one of the rooms that was vacant at the moment. She opened the door before she urged me to get inside. ‘After you,’ Kiara said as I walked inside it. She walked in after me before she closed the door and I was taking a seat at the table provided. She took a seat opposite of me before she looked at me. ‘So, what is it?’ I asked her as she was silent for more than 5 minutes. I was sweating under her stare, her blue eyes were staring at me like a cat. I don’t make any movement. After I felt the tension was too much, I cleared my throat. Kiara raised an eyebrow at me. ‘Please, I don’t have much time,’ I said before I went to get up. Unexpectedly, Kiara went on top of me as she straddled my lap and I was seated again. ‘Don’t be so boring, doc. I know that you have something for me,’ she whispered into my ear as I was chilled to my bones by her cold voice. ‘What? I don’t even know what you want, woman!’ I exclaimed before she looked at me and slapped me. The nerve of a woman! ‘I told you to have something of mine, all I merely ask you to return it,’ she said as she stood up and pushed me back on the chair. ‘I don’t know what you’re asking for, Kiara!’ I exclaimed as her name lingered on my lips. It had been forever since I looked at her, smelled her feminine scent and kissed her delectable lips. ‘Eyes up here, doc,’ she said as I was forced to look into her eyes. How wonderful it was to get lost in there. She sighed before she let me go and stood in the corner. ‘Do you believe in a second chance, Charles?’ She said as she spoke my name. I nodded, unable to let out my voice. She turned at me as she looked at me. ‘Well, do you agree or not?’ She asked again as she looked at me with her icy glare. ‘Yes, of course, I would. I would do anything to clear my name once more,’ I said as I was looking at her. She was smiling wickedly when she looked at me. ‘So, you wanted to clear your name from the scandal that you have with the CIA and Interpol, is that correct?’ She asked. I nodded. ‘Hence, you will do anything to make that happen, yes?’ She asked again. I nodded again. ‘Then, you have to do what I say, Doc, as I’m the key to your new clean slate,’ Kiara's voice lingered in my left ear as I could smell her delectable perfume on me. ‘Do we have a deal?’ She said as I could feel my bulge was growing inside my pants. ‘Yes,’ I panted as I answered her. She smiled as she chuckled lowly at me. ‘Good. Now, let’s go back to your house,’ she said before she pulled me up and kissed me again. This time I was prepared as I was ready to kiss her back but we had reached our destination and she let me go instantly. She went to the door of my apartment in Zurich and she urged me to unlock it. ‘After you,’ she said as she looked at me. I went to scan my biometrics and the doors were unlocked. I opened it and allowed her to get inside. I never had anyone coming over to this apartment before as it was my solitude from the outside world, from craziness. ‘Cool apartment,’ she said as she turned to me. Kiara Hoffman’s POV After years and years of searching for Charles Debrun, I came across news that he was the new chairperson of a company in Denmark. He was happy with Sophia, his fiancée, by his side, but I knew that smile. It was a fake smile as he was only smiling at the camera. I had made a bargain with him and now stood inside his private apartment in Zurich, Switzerland. I don’t know if he noticed my stance, but I know that I have been here before. ‘So, let’s talk,’ I said as I took a seat on his sofa. He stood in front of me as I rested my arms on the armrest. ‘Do you know about your father's research on teleportation?’ I asked as I looked at him. He was looking at me before he simply said, ‘No,’ ‘No?’ I asked, as I’m not quite sure if I heard it right. ‘No, I don’t even know what you are talking about, Kiara! And if you are going to talk nonsense, I suggest you leave,’ he said, and before he reached the doorknob, I threw a dagger close to the handle. ‘You made a bargain with me and I will not rest until you dig up some old family secrets and give them to me as I want,’ I said as I stood up and went to his side. He was backing up from me as he knew that messing with me now would be dangerous. ‘Now, why don’t we start that tomorrow?’ I said as I smoothed his shirt on his chest. ‘Why not now?’ He asked timidly. I liked it when he trembled under my hands. ‘Well, for now. I want you,’ I said before I claimed his lips and kissed him with all my might.
