Chapter 2.5

Christina Dobulski’s POV When Tony said that my tea was not up to his standard, I was about to lose my s**t. How can I be so stupid and forgetful about the instructions for his tea? Was it two sugars and a slice of mint? Or was it lemon with 2 cubes of sugar? Oh my God! I cannot believe I messed up on my first day. “What did you put in my tea, Christina?” Tony asked, as his caramel orbs were staring at me. I gulped. Man, I hated this feeling of being messed up. I closed my eyes as I sighed. “I’m sorry, sir. I don’t know what I put inside the tea. I messed up. Maybe I should do it again,” I said as I was moving to get the tea. He stopped me before he pressed the intercom. “Nina, bring my tea,” he said before I was standing still until Nina came inside the room and put the tea on the table. I was looking at the tea as it was brewing hot with its steam. “Thank you, you’re excused,” Tony said to Nina as she looked at me apologetically. I was on my first day and now I will be retiring soon. What a life I have led. I was biting my lower lips as I saw that Tony was sipping on the tea before he turned to look at me as he gestured to me to come near him. “Now, taste this,” he said as he was handing me the tea. I was breathing fast and could sense that my anxiety was coming to me. I took it as I took it to my mouth and before I was sipping it, Tony stopped me. “Not there. There,” he said as he turned to the cup for me. I sipped it before I tasted the lemon with the tea. It was a good combination. “Happy?” He asked me as I was nodding at him before I put the tea down. “Now, try yours,” he said as he gestured to me to have the tea that I made. I gulped before I brought it to my mouth. Again, he made sure that the place that I tasted on the cup was on the specific spot that he told me to before I sipped the tea. “Szar!” I cursed as I was spitting the tea on Tony. He closed his eyes as I was spraying the water onto his face. “Oh my God! Szar!” I said as I was wiping his face with my hands before he held my wrists as the water was dripping from his face. “Are you trying on my patience, woman?” He asked murderously as he was looking at me with his brown orbs. I gulped as I looked down at the ground. “Look at me,” he growled, and instantly, my eyes were meeting his. They were holding so many emotions that I was afraid to look at them before he shook his head and sighed. “Get some towels from the toilet,” he said as he released my wrists. I blinked at him before he sighed loudly. “Over there,” he showed me the door to his office as I went to get some towels. It was an immaculate bathroom as there was a toilet bowl and a sink. It was a half bath but it was nice. I went to search for towels and it was under the sink. I wetted the towel a little bit before I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I sighed like I was a hot mess and I just messed up everything about my opportunity to discover the world right now. “Well, I think it’s official. I am going home tonight,” I said before I closed the faucet and took the towels out of the sink. “f**k me,” I mumbled before I went to Tony as he was standing near the desk as he was unbuttoning the shirt. I stopped in my track. “What are you doing?” I asked him as I was imagining that he was undressing himself to do something awful. I know that I am trapped in the mansion, but that does not mean I don’t know about s****l intercourse. If anything, my father protected me from those topics. But I was not that innocent as I would eavesdrop on the bodyguards during their off duty and they were talking about their s****l life. I wished I had one wish, but what can I say? My life was nonexistence. I was looking at his long fingers that were expertly unbuttoning his shirt. His movements were in slow motion as I was blinking at him before. I was trying not to focus on his lean, toned body. I thought he was too feminine that he did not have any of those. “What are you gawking at? Come and help me with this,” he barked as I jumped on my feet before I was walking very slowly at him. He sighed before he rolled his eyes at me. “Come on, Christina. I don’t have all day and, thanks to you, I have to do all the paperwork again,” he said as I was looking at the desk. The tea was everywhere and I winced because I was guilty about it. “Here,” I said timidly as I was handing him the towel. He scoffed before he grabbed my wrist and I shrieked. “Relax, I just want you to wipe it off. It’s not like I was going to jump on you. You’re not even my type,” he said as I felt a slap to my face, figuratively. I knew that I was not as pretty as Nina or immaculate assistance like his other assistance in his boutique. Then, why hire me? I was wiping his chest and I spilled my tea on it. It was glistening dangerously as I was trying to keep my face stoic. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction that he could stir something to my heart. “All clean,” I said as I was looking into his face. Tony was looking at me before I turned to look away from his intense gaze. “Now, clean that desk and I want you to rewrite everything before tomorrow,” he said before he moved to the bathroom. He took the towel from my hand before I went to the desk. It was a hot mess before I shook my head and I started to pile up the paperwork. He needed them tomorrow, so I guessed I would be pulling an all-nighter tonight. I was looking for something to put the papers on before I saw a trolley at the corner of the office. I dumped all the papers on it before I went to the door and got out of the office. “Hey, Nina,” I said as Nina looked up from her computer. “Yes?” She asked and I told her that I needed to work on something and she was happy to show me where I would be sitting. “So, this is your desk,” she showed me as we went to the next office that was adjacent to Tony’s office. Not that I cared about it, but I never knew that we had a door that was connected. “This is the stuff that you need to accommodate Tony’s needs. And you can work on this computer for the papers. And you will be receiving a laptop but you have to ask Tony about it,” she said before I thanked her. “Sure thing,” she said giddily, because I didn’t know what was the deal with her. Maybe she was too happy that I was being replaced and Nina did not have to do anything with Tony again. I sighed as I was looking at the papers before I rolled my sleeves. “Well, better start now,” I said as I took a seat at the computer table and powered it up. Antonio Romano’s POV I cannot believe I did not fire her. Christina might be the worst candidate for this position, but I don’t have anyone else. If I did, I would get her out of that tea incident here. But, thinking about it now, I don’t think that my heart will be moved by her face drained of blood. It was so sad and I don’t want her to be sad. Wait, what? Since when do I care about other people? My father did not train me to be like that. If anything, he trained me to be heartless and, right now, I cannot seem to be heartless with Christina. She is depending on me too much right now. I have never let anyone depend on me before. Well, if you counted some commands from the higher place, maybe I would let you be dependent on me, but that’s before. Before I came to Italy and started my boutique. Before I came and tried to forget my past, that only brought sadness into my heart. Then, why, oh why, was not Christina fired by me yet? She had not passed the tea test, the desk was a mess and she was so timid that she was afraid to look at me in the face and when I was unbuttoning my shirt, she stopped in her tracks. Has she ever seen a naked man before? And why did my heart bloom at that thought? I was staring at my face in the bathroom as I was putting on the new button shirt that I kept in a case like that. I think I needed to restock those even more because I knew Christina would be having more incidents. And I think I was looking forward to that.
