CHAPTER 1

1560 Words
Good morning universe! I just woke up from my nice sleep. I just got back from Paris yesterday, and I'm at home now. I have a class to attend this morning, so I have to get up and shower. I was about to go inside the shower, but something stopped me. I saw the family portrait of me and my family on the wall of my kitchen. It's been a while since I saw them. They were busy all the time, they couldn't even attend some of my special events because of their business. I just finished doing it last month and I also worked on it for six months. It is big and very difficult to make. I just did it on the wall and nothing more. It was only black and white colored paint and, for me, it's giving a royalty vibe. It was me, my two older brothers, Saxon and Venorem, my mom and my dad. Describing the portrait, mom and dad are in front, sitting in a separate royal chair. While in the center gap between the two chairs, there was me, standing gracefully. Saxon was on my left side, while Venorem was on my right. My gaze landed on my favorite brother, Saxon. Saxon was our older brother. He's a criminal lawyer and works in my family's business at the same time. Saxon, a name that echoes with authority and intellect. A formidable presence in the legal realm, he is revered as a great criminal lawyer, navigating the complexities of the law with precision and passion. His sharp mind and unwavering dedication to justice make him a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. Tall and commanding, Saxon's stature exudes confidence and charisma, drawing attention wherever he goes. His striking appearance is complemented by a timeless charm that captivates those around him. Despite his demanding career, Saxon finds solace in the world of books, where his love for reading shines through. Whether delving into legal tomes or immersing himself in works of fiction, his thirst for knowledge and storytelling knows no bounds. A man of many facets, Saxon's blend of legal expertise, striking presence, and intellectual curiosity make him a captivating figure in both professional and personal spheres, leaving a lasting impression on all who have the privilege of crossing paths with him. As my eyes wandered around the whole painting, the next thing I saw was my other older brother, Venorem. Venorem, a name that resonates with excellence and versatility. A true embodiment of athleticism and intellect, he effortlessly dominates both the basketball court and the swimming pool with finesse and determination. As a great basketball player, his agility and strategic prowess leave spectators in awe, while his presence in the water as a skilled swimmer is nothing short of mesmerizing. Beyond his athletic achievements, Venorem's commitment to studying medicine showcases his dedication to helping others and his thirst for knowledge. His sharp mind and compassionate nature shine through in his pursuit of healing and understanding the complexities of the human body. Handsome and charismatic, Venorem's long, slicked-back hair adds a touch of sophistication to his athletic persona, drawing admiration and intrigue wherever he goes. A true Renaissance man, Venorem's multifaceted talents and striking appearance make him a captivating presence in any setting, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross paths with him. And there was me, the useless daughter of Amy Valencia and Ferando Valencia. Up until now, I still didn't know what path I was going to take. I was struggling to choose, but my mother keeps bothering me more to put myself in her shoes. I always see myself as the family's black sheep. Despite my talents and efforts, my brothers stand so tall, a height that I am unable to reach. So I continued walking to the bathroom to continue my morning routine. After my quick shower, I dressed up wearing my plain white shirt and a plain black fitted skirt. I sat at my big vanity mirror to fix myself. Not like others' beauty, mine has more of a Latinian accent which emphasizes my naturally straight hair. I fixed my thick brows and applied nude lipstick before brushing my 28-inch hair. After everything was set, I stood up and put my laptop and i-pad inside my black tote bag. I also carried my stanley before taking the key to my bedside drawer. Everything was set, and it was getting late, so I immediately locked my front door and got inside my car and started driving. A few minutes later, I arrived at school. I was almost late for my first class, but luckily I arrived on time. I sat alone at my table and didn't notice that Saph and Clarra were also sitting ahead of my table. "Hey V!" Saph turned her body to face me while sitting on her chair. Unlike her expression, I was so shocked to see her here. "Saph?" I said, raising my left brow because of confusion. Isn't she a business student? "Girl, you're probably wondering how she got here." Clarra also turned to me with a smirk on her face. I was even more confused when she said that. "Then tell me why!" I said with an irritated tone. Gosh these people. Well, I was known for having a bad attitude in school. That's why no one messes up with me. "I shifted". She even said those words happily. "Girl what?" My jaw dropped. I couldn't even process everything. Clarra was giggling at the side, looking at my shocked face. "Why?" I added. "The business department was too boring, and one more thing, you two are not there, so who am I supposed to talk with hm?" Saph said with a disgusted look. "Geez you're crazy." I jokingly rolled my eyes and leaned back on the backrest of my chair. "She sure is" Clarra said with her face, agreeing to what I'd said. "Thanks" she sighed as she turned to her position. Seconds later, our prof came in and the class started. Time to be serious again. ******** It was already 11am when my 3rd class ended, and I found myself sitting on the bench on the school field. It has a table and a roof, so the heat was not bothering me. I also brought my mini fan with me, so the surrounding heat would ease a bit. My stomach was screaming for food since I hadn't eaten since this morning, and luckily I had my water with me. It could give me a refreshing feeling for a moment. I was too busy to order myself food. And I am too lazy to do it for now. I have a few major subjects to advance my studies. As I was writing on my i-pad, my gaze fell on the silhouette of a guy standing in front of me. I looked up and saw a handsome heartthrob. Uno. "Busy?" I heard him say while looking at me. "A bit", I sighed and looked back at him while he sat in front of me. "What are you doing?" "Taking these future lessons. I'm tired", I sighed again and continued my work. "How have you been" I asked, eyes on my laptop. "I've been good. Just navigating the usual challenges of school and trying to find an elusive balance between academic and personal time." I heard him sigh, leaning back on the bench with a thoughtful expression on his face.. "How about you?" "It's been a whirlwind, as always." I'm so glad to have times like this. Uno has been my number one friend who always accompanies me every time. It's nice to take a break from everything and talk to him. I feel safe. "Why?" He asked with a worried look. "Sometimes, I wonder if I was on the right path. If the choices I'm making will lead me to where I want to be. It's scary, not knowing what the future holds." I smiled gently upon my sad eyes. Now that everything was said, my atmosphere became light. "It's uncertain, and it's okay to feel lost." He said before he stood up. "I have got to go to buy some snacks. Judging from your aura, you look hungry". He smirked. "Oh thank God" I smiled, looking at him. "I would love some ice cream" I said before he left and said, "I know." In the quiet moment of this day, being alone, my thoughts drifted to Uno. His unwavering presence, his silent understanding, anchored me in the stormy seas of my emotions. In a world of fleeting connections, our friendship was like a rare gem, a treasure I hold dear to my heart. "V!" I heard a call from not far away. I'm still on the bench with my laptop since Uno left me to buy some snacks for both of us. I quickly moved my head to see a random girl running towards me. What does she need? "Have you seen the leaking pictures yet?" She said as she looked at me in the eyes. I was getting nervous as my eyes scanned the whole silhouette around and found the girl who was looking at me. "What pictures?" I asked. As she opens her phone and swipes at more than 10 photos, I couldn't believe what I saw.
