Antoine-Felix and Charlotte Korentin have been married for seven years. Charlotte lost her newborn son early in their marriage. Two years later, she gave birth to a baby girl, who was named Alice-Sophie.
Mr. and Mrs. Korentin have considerably increased their financial status. Charlotte did not deny herself anything, and her husband still admired her beauty and intelligence.
