INDIAN PARADE – 10 AM
It’s mid-April and starting to get warm. The tourists are packing up and leaving after experiencing the wonderful mild winter months. Mid-April brings the Indian celebrations to town and most of the visitors line the streets of downtown Phoenix to see the Indians parade and dance in full ceremonial costumes.
Of course, the Indians mesh through the crowds trying to sell souvenirs, leathers, jewelry, and anything else that they can. While the locals and the tourists are enthralled watching the chanting, prancing, stomping, dancing, etc., the Indians are in Phoenix to make ‘whompom’ money. That’s why they leave the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation up north.
