1823 ENGLAND. “Oh master! Yes master! Harder master!” The parrot crooked. The young women giggled as the parrot squawked. Lord Longbottom’s face grew red as he tried to shush his pet. But it just kept on squawking away. “I don’t know what makes matters worse.” Lilian said. “The fact that his name is Long bottom or the fact that his parrot has been overhearing his sexploits.” The other two girls giggled. “It’s definitely not Lady Longbottom saying that.” Jessica said. As Blair opened her mouth to join the conversation, her mother stood in front of her. “Blair Foxworth you will cease such improper conversations!” Her mother snapped. “All you three!” They went hush. “Remember poise and chaste makes you a lady.” Her mother said. “Not mimicking a parrot. Goodness!” “Sorry lady Foxworth.” They all chorused. “You are to meet eligible bachelors. It’s the season to find a good husband.” She reprimanded. Blair rolled her eyes. “Now off you two! Go find a good man!” She told them and they scurried away. Blair tried to make a fast escape but her mother caught her hand. “Where do you think you’re going young lady?” Her mother said. “I found you a desirable bachelor. His title is perfect for you and he is rich!” “I do not wish to wed mother.” Blair wailed. “Hush!” Her mother warned her and then smiled at the other guests so they won’t see what was going on. “You would be on your best behavior tonight.” Her mother whispered sharply and dragged her off. Blair was in dismay. Tonight was the worst night of her life. Her mother had brought her, dare say, forced her into attend one of these balls. The Duchess of Wales was having her birthday and it was apparently a social party. The King and Queen were even in attendance! Thank God that no prince had come, her mother would have forced her on his lap! She would have prepared to sit down in her bedroom on her cozy chair and read a book. But her mother’s exact words were “you would do no such thing!” So here they were and she was wearing a purple dress that showed her cleavage to the world and her blonde hair was styled in the latest style. It had ALL been by force. “Lord Brent.” Her mother started as they reached a gathering. “This is my lovely daughter Blair.” “Ah Blair how lovely to meet you.” The young man probably around the age of twenty seven said. “Can’t quite say the same.” Blair mumbled. Her mother stepped on her feet under the large dress and Blair quickly said. “Lovely to meet you two.” Her mother gave a stiff smile. “Lord Brent here just graduated from Oxford. He is going to take up his father’s title and be a viscount. Isn’t that lovely?” Her mother said. Blair just looked at the man before her. He was good looking but she knew his type. Arrogant, head stuck with politics, extremely boring. When she saw his eyes gazing down at her cleavage she grew annoyed. Her mother elbowed her. “That’s lovely.” Blair said. “But it’s sad you went to Oxford.” “Why is it sad?” His mother a woman who looked like a pumpkin with blazing red lip stick asked as she sipped her wine. “I don’t know. Maybe because men with walking c***s attend school while women just stay at home and tend to the children with zero choice.” Blair said. Lady Brent choked on her wine. Brent’s face went ashen and her mother looked like she would murder her at the spot. Mrs Brent kept on coughing and soon people gathered to help her. Blair used the commotion to make a fast escape. She went out of the noisy hall and down to the quiet gardens and sat down dejected by a bench while the moonlight radiated the entire garden. She hated this! Absolutely hated it! Why couldn’t she just live life the way she wanted?! She was clocking twenty soon and her mother had told her that if she passed the age of twenty no one would want to marry her anymore. Who cared?! Well, her mother did. Ever since her father had died, things had gone awful for them. He had made a bad investment and lost all the family money. He died leaving me with debts and it had broken mother. Her three brothers were equally trying their best to resolve the issue. They were the Foxworths. Of course no one knew they were broke. They had no titles but they had lived in England with such great prestige and legacy that they had almost become royalty. They still had the house and everything but it would drive her mother in shame if the lenders called for their money. Hence why she tried to marry her off. She heard a noise and she jumped up. “Don’t run. I won’t harm you.” Came a deep masculine voice. She tensed and then as he came forward, She saw the most beautiful man she had ever seen.
