Darkness was the last thing I remembered, but the first thing that I saw was a white ceiling. A clean, no stain or dirt white color layer that could be counted as newly painted. I blinked several times to adjust to a tint of pale orange light that shone on the three-layer square crystal chandelier on top of me, trying to bring out a sense of familiarity. But there was none. Where am I? I asked myself. Panic seeped through me—the fear of getting kidnapped again. I sat bolt upright on the bed, intending to run away, but the pain that shot to my head made me drop back.
