Chapter 29

1303 Words

Serena’s POV I was exhausted. My body ached from the beatings I had received and the last thing I wanted was to talk to them. I ignored them at first, hoping they’d take the hint and leave. But of course, that wasn’t going to happen. “Who did this to you?” Damien’s voice was sharp, laced with barely restrained fury as he took in my bruises. I exhaled slowly, willing myself to stay calm. “I don’t have the time for this.” I let the wolf stay beside me, still unconscious. “I don’t care,” he snapped. His entire body radiated tension, his eyes dark with something lethal. “I asked a question, Serena. Who?” I didn’t answer. I was too tired for this. Dorian stepped forward, his expression softer but no less intense. “Serena, tell us what happened.” His voice was low, almost coaxing.
