Dangerously yours

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"Alright then, let me just pack that up." I walk around to the back of the counter and pick up a Styrofoam, pack up the orders and add a cup of Jane’s favorite drink; funny thing is she never liked it but recently she have developed a taste for it. 

I walk up to the computer and put the order in and the total amount comes up, print out the receipt and walk back over to Jeff. 

"That’s going to be ten dollars and 4 cents." 

Jeff brings it out and hands the money over to me as I hand him his order. 

"Ahhh, Sky you didn’t have to." He says looking at the cup of coconut and raspberry milkshake. 

"I did you a big favor here Man, imagine you showing up with sweets and no drink?.How would that have played out for you big guy?" 

I tell him looking into his eyes with a gleeful smile. 

He winces.

"Why didn’t I think of that?. You’re a lifesaver Sky, I am forever in your debt." He says dramatically with a serious look on his face. 

"Yeah you are." I laugh in his face. 

" please extend my greetings to Jane, I have been so busy with work but I’ll be over to see her soon." I tell him. 

"Alright. thank God. Let her scream at someone else for a change." His eyes light up at the possibility of that happening. 

It is hilarious. 

That’s one thing I hope to have for myself some day. Love, friendship and companionship. Those three things with one person forever. Have my own little family with cute girls and boys running around the yard playing with our dog. I would love that. Seeing Jane and Jeff interact, play and he always wants to see her happy at all times even when it irritates him or she’s antsy, it  makes me crave those things. To have forever with someone. 

I refocus on Jeff. 

I giggle and wave him goodbye. 

I work alongside Heather and soon the crowd dwindles as people eat their pastries and move along to their places of work and offices.
