I am behind the counter checking if things are in order. Placing pastries in the display plates on the show glass. I pick up the napkin and dust the crumbs that fell on the counter. It's early yet for customers to come in and we're still closed.
I walk back into the back room picking things up around, clearing my area, checking the freezer to make sure my cakes stay cool and fresh before I have to ice them up.
My most recent order is a wedding cake and they made a sketch design of what they want their cake to look like and what they want it to represent. They wanted it to represent both of their professions, their hobbies and the first place they met. How beautiful right.?! Making wedding cakes was not part of my plan when I opened this cakes shop. I wanted to bake pastries.
