We make our way inside the through the parking garage entrance into the shopping area of the building. It's quiet. The tapping of our shoes down the long hallway that leads from the garage to the main shopping area is all we can hear. There must not be anyone in this part of the building. At least I hope there isn't. I know we'll have a tough battle ahead of us, so the least amount of demons we have to fight as we go the better.
The elevator that leads to the hotel is at the other end of the mall. So, we don't stop moving. As we walk, still the only thing we hear is our own footsteps clicking against the tile. As we pass the glass windows and doorways to each shop, we are on full alert not knowing if something will jump out at us.
