Lila groaned, “I’m so tired, Gabriel. Can’t I just have a long nap until tomorrow morning?” Gabriel chuckled. “No rest for the wicked. Trust me. You don’t want to go to sleep just yet.” They said goodbye to Isabella as they entered the pack house. Gabriel picked Lila up, bridal style. She almost fell asleep while he carried Lila up the four stories to their quarters. He chuckled at her closing eyes. But when they entered their quarters, Lila’s eyes widened as she saw Gabriel’s quarters. The soft glow of flickering candles bathed the room, casting a warm and welcoming ambiance. The scent of fresh roses permeated the air, filling her senses and making her feel relaxed and at ease. “Gabriel, this is beautiful,” Lila breathed, feeling gratitude wash over her. Gabriel set her gently down.
