It hurt so much to see him leave me like that, but I knew if it wasn't for duty, he wouldn't. So, I shoved my feelings aside and tried to concentrate on waiting for him.
A part of me really hoped that he would come back quickly; also, the other half of me knew he might not, and I just might end up waiting for the whole day.
I pushed the food aside because I had suddenly lost my appetite, even when I was still eager to try out some things on the table.
