Chapter Four The Tartan Skirt We spent the next few days relaxing at the castle and, one bright morning, took a walk down to the sea loch. We were standing on a rocky outcrop and the air was fresh and saline with a light breeze blowing inland. The scenery was amazing: low hills, bracken, heather and a few trees rising from the shore on the other side. Sappho was standing in front of me, leaning back and my hands were on her shoulders. We were just casting our eyes over the natural beauty, landward and seaward, when, all of a sudden we both turned towards the ocean and shuddered with a mixture of horror and amazement.
