Chapter 28: Designing a Home
Two weeks after the incredibly successful launch of the clinic, the focus shifted back to their personal future. The formal marriage contract was signed, but the reality of merging their two distinct lives into a shared home was a beautiful, ongoing puzzle.
They spent their Sunday afternoon in Zayd’s apartment, surrounded by open cardboard boxes, stacks of books, and framed Islamic art prints waiting to be hung on the walls.
"We need a dedicated office space," Zayd said, measuring the wall of the second bedroom with a tape measure. "If we are both going to be managing the clinic’s expansion from home in the evenings, we need a massive double desk. One side for your clinical research binders, and one side for my dual monitors."
