**Abigail pov** The next morning, I got up trying to prepare myself to head off to the office, then my sister walked in the dining room, “Hey girl! How are you doing?” She said, smiling at me. “ I am fine sis, getting ready for work as usual, how about you, how is college?” I said while doing my usual morning coffee. “ Well, sis everything has been good and amazing” she said while smiling and surprisingly blushing “ Amazing….. I know that tone, spill the tea!” I said while teasing her knowing something was behind that sudden expression. “Well, there is this guy, His name is Jason, he is sweet, nice, handsome, Gosh! He is everything I have dreamt of sis and he asked him on a date today” she said while jumping into the air and we both screamed excitedly. “OMG!!! I am so proud of you sis, Gosh for far too long you have been single, what time are you going for the date?” I asked excitedly “ It is by 7pm at the Casapedro Restaurant, he is going to be picking me up himself.” “Ouuu, he is such a gentleman, oh sis I am proud of you and happy”. I said while giving her a hug. “ I promise I am going to come home early tonight to help you prepare for your date okay” I said while she headed off to her room. I was so happy for her, Sarah hasn't had a good boyfriend in such a long time and this made her also distant from the relationship. I am so happy she is happy that at least one of us deserves a good love life. I headed off to the office, greeted the staff as usual and entered my office. I had some work to do so I started the work as I was almost done with it. A thought came to my mind concerning dad meeting with the influential investor, so once I was done with the paperwork , I went to his office. Knock knock “Who is that?” “It’s me, Abigail.” “Oh, love. Come in.” “Hello, Dad. How are you?” I asked, taking a seat as he gestured. “I’m fine, dear.” He lied, I saw him looking so worried and nervous, why did he look like that was it the meeting with the investor. Gosh!! I hope it is not what I am thinking. “So how was the meeting with the investor concerning the company?”. I asked. He gave a more anxious and worried look as if he was scared to tell me something. “ Well Abigail, He agreed on it.” He said. “ Wow !! Dad, that is amazing, congrats!! But why is your face looking like that, is anything the matter?” I said with a little suspicious look on my face at him. “ Well, he asked for a condition and he requested that of he wants to save the company he has to make you his wife on a contract marriage”. He said while looking down in a sad face My life flashed against me, I was in shook. He asked for such a thing. I don't even know him and he doesn't know me so he can just request that I get married to him. My head went back and forth on it. “How could he request such a thing and how did he specially get to choose me to get married to him?”. I asked with so much suspicion. “ He saw your pic in my office and I tried to tell him that it will not work but he still refused and we need him for the company”. He said “So dad what are you trying to say that I get married to a man I barely know, someone who might make me miserable” I said with tears rolling from my eyes. “No sweetheart, you make your choice, I am not going to force you to do what you don't want to do”. he said as he cleaned my tears with his fingers and I left his office. I went straight to my office, thoughts flooding my mind. I was being forced to choose between myself and my father's company. What kind of man would make such a demand? The weight of the decision pressed heavily on me. Then my phone buzzed, and I suddenly remembered, Oh my God, I promised Sarah I’d help her get ready for her date. I quickly closed my laptop and rushed out of the office. “Hey, sis. Sorry I’m late, I got caught up with work,” I said as I stepped inside. “It’s fine, sis,” she replied with a smile. “So, which outfit do you like better—this or that?” She held up two dresses: one was a red gown with a high slit and a V-neckline that hugged her curves; the other was a short, rhinestone-studded mini dress with an open back, equally body-hugging. “To be honest, I don’t love either,” I said, eyeing them. “This is a date, not a party. You want to look sexy, sure, but also a bit modest.” I grinned at her and walked straight to her closet. After a quick search, I pulled out the perfect dress: a form-fitting, asymmetrical one-shoulder mesh maxi dress with a multicolored green-toned gradient. It had a sheer effect, a bodycon silhouette, and dramatic draped fabric extensions. Elegant, stylist and just right. “This is perfect for the date,” I said, smiling as I handed it to her. “Gosh, this is why I love having you as my sister!” she squealed, grabbing the dress and heading to change. While helping her get ready, I kept my worries hidden. I didn’t want her to see the weight I was carrying. Tonight was her night, not mine. When she finally stepped out, I gasped. She looked stunning. “Damn, you look beautiful, girl,” I said, trying to lift her spirit and mine. “Thanks, sis. Thank you for everything. I love you so much,” she said, pulling me into a warm hug. Just then, we heard a car pull up outside. It was Jason. “Go and have fun, girl. See you later,” I said as she headed out to meet him. I stood by the door, watching as they drove off, my smile fading just a little.
