CHAPTER 8 - Denied Existence

Pranavi saw the shift in his demeanor and couldn't help but feel a little scared. After all, they weren't familiar! "But he's your fiance! What are you supposed to call him without his name?" Her inner voice mocked her. "Shut up!" Pranavi scowled when her inner voice chuckled, "maybe try Mr. Arrogant? or Mr. Handsome?" "You!!" She was furious with her stupid thoughts and shut them up for a while. Gazing at the scene, Ashok was baffled. He didn't know whether to stop Pranavi or let her come, because, from Jwalin's expressions, Ashok understood Jwalin knew her, but the signs weren't good! "Mr. Oberoi, do you know her?" Ashok politely asked, since it'd be better to be cautious. Pranavi heard the question and expected a yes, but to her dismay, Jwalin replied with a straight face, "no." "What the actual f**k!" Pranavi cussed in her mind hearing that. Ignoring the warning bells, she yelled, "Hey, Mr! Don't you know me?" Listening to the tone Pranavi used, Ashok pitied her, "what a poor girl she was! She doesn't know whom she was messing with!" Shaking their heads, the secretary's team glanced at her with sympathy while sighing, "Why was she challenging our President? Oh, god! She's so done in his hands!" On the other hand, Jwalin stiffened and he seemed to be in deep thoughts, but the coldness with a tinge of ruthlessness emanated from him, making the temperature around them turn chilly. Hearing no response from him, "You were the one who put this ring on me!" Pranavi lost it and yelled at Jwalin while showing her finger on his face, making Jwalin enraged. Listening to that, all the members remained rooted in their tracks, not knowing what to do, and were sweating profusely, while exchanging glances. Jwalin gave a scrutinizing glance at her, his face stone cold, which gave chills to the people present, including Pranavi. But she knew this wasn't the time to act cowardly, or else this man would be even more arrogant! With the thought in her mind, she portrayed a brave facade though her palms were sweating in nervousness. Jwalin gave a slight mocking chuckle while his gaze was hostile, and muttered, "is it?" Eyeing him, she felt her breath hitch. "Damn him! Why did it seem so frightening when he gave a chuckle?" "Oh god! Save me from this overly scary handsome man!" She mumbled under her breath, hoping that would help her! The scene appeared as if it was frozen, except for Jwalin's piercing gaze on Pranavi and her gulps. Everybody else stayed firm in their tracks, too scared to utter a word and fearing the wrath of Jwalin if they mistakenly took any misstep now, especially when their president was super pissed! Jwalin slowly strode towards Pranavi, who stood there in panic and there was a dark glint in his pitch-black eyes as if he was going to enjoy the humiliation he was about to give her. With that, he grabbed her hand roughly, pulling her dangerously close to him, which was affecting her mind and heart. She was driven into a state of frenzy and her thoughts clouded in panic. His warm breath hitting on her cheeks made her extremely flustered, and she couldn't help but crane her neck to face him. Her thoughts ran a marathon, "Damn it! What the heck was he trying to do?" She gulped hard in realization, "It was plain stupid of me to meet him!" Eyeing the cunning smirk on Jwalin, she understood, "This was going to be a disaster!" She bit her lips trying to focus on anything except his burning gaze on her, but as if her heart was against her, she forgot to speak the only important thing and stood there dumbfounded. Seeing this, his secretaries were baffled! Because Jwalin just denied her existence but grasped her hand! Moreover, he was extremely close to her and there was some ambiguity between them. Their eyes were wide in anticipation, "Holy sh*t! Our President grabbed a woman's hand!" "She looks young!" One of them exclaimed in shick. Another probed, gazing at Pranavi's style of clothing, "Was she a student?" An envious female muttered, "Who was the lucky girl to be so close to our president?" "She was so ordinary!" Peeping at Pranavi, another one said as a matter of factly, tucking her hair behind her ear. Another jealous employee stated, "She doesn't look stunning at all!" Everyone on his team had their own thoughts gazing at the couple whose proximity was making the air tense! Pranavi was intimidated yet decided to get a grip on her and vent her thoughts out, since she may not be lucky another time to meet him. When she was about to open her mouth, Jwalin gave a disgusting glance at her and bent his head to her level, and whisper yelled in her ear, "get the f**k out of here before I throw you out." His low voice was magnetic yet chilly, and Pranavi struggled to get out of his grip, but his grasp was so strong that she couldn't get out, even though she used all her strength. Being a martial arts practitioner, she failed in front of him, which showed he was a super-strong man! "Oh, hello, Mr. Arrogant. I'm not eager to meet you." Pranavi retorted in her defense, failing to control her temper. Jwalin scoffed at her, which looked dead scary to her, because his eyes held a promise that if she didn't leave his office now, then he'd deal with her in his way! "Jwalin, please listen to what I'm about to say. It's important." Pranavi uttered when his grip tightened, making her bones crush. "Damn it, was he going to make me handicapped?" She thought when he dragged her forcefully without giving her any chance to speak. "Hey, stop!" She tried to scream, but suddenly her throat went dry and it came as a soft plea, which made Jwalin despise her even more. "Holy fu'k! Why did my voice come out like this?" She cursed inwardly. "Out of all the times, why should my throat dry up now? Argh!!" She internally screamed at herself in frustration. Jwalin didn't stop and was applying more force on her wrists, which she was sure would bruise by the time he was done with her! "Is this the way you treat your fiance?" She couldn't help but ask when he gritted, "shut the fu'k up before I do something to you, which I'm sure you won't like!" "Listen, I don't want to," She was cut off by him, and he threw her out of the door while warning his security personnel loudly, "don't ever let her in!" She was lucky that she didn't fall on the floor! "Bastard!" Pranavi screamed, but he already left with his team in a swift motion without giving any f**k about her. Dusting off the invisible dust, she roared, "What the f**k is his problem?" Pranavi's face was turned red in anger, and cussed, "Didn't he have any manners?" Holding her handbag tightly, she muttered under her breath, glancing at his disappearing direction, "Such an arrogant prick!" She ahd an immense urge to knock his arroagance off, "What if he's rich? Is this the way to treat his fiance?" Hearing that, her inner voice mocked her, "Well, you were technically not his loving fiance." Shaking her head in annoyance, she added, "but still, I deserve respect! Forget fiance, this wasn't the way to treat any person!" Pranavi was burning in anger when her phone rang, and she heard Shreya's bubbly voice, "where are you, girl?" "I'm super pissed!" Pranavi couldn't help but yell. "Woah! What's wrong?" Shreya inquired. Glancing at the surroundings, she found an ice cream parlor nearby and added in displeasure, "Pick me up at Naturals near Oberoi Entreprises. I'll tell you later." "Girl, you went to have ice cream without me?" Shreya queried when Pranavi retorted, "cut your crap and come quickly." With a sigh, Shreya added, "I'll be there in half an hour, and let me warn you, the traffic was awful!" "Take your time. I'll be waiting for you." With that, Pranavi hung up the phone. Gazed at the building, Pranavi sighed in disappointment, "why didn't I say what I wanted to say in the first place! I'm such a fool." "Did he give you a chance?" Her subconscious asked a meaningful sentence after so long! "Well, no. But I should somehow say what I wanted to say." She muttered because, by now, she was sure Jwalin hated her! But the interesting question was, "why was he willing to marry me if he detests me so much?" With all her thoughts jumbled, she finally reached the ice cream parlor and ordered a chocolate brownie, because it always calms her troublesome mind and heart! When she was about to occupy the chair, she heard someone calling, " Hey, Pranavi!" With that, she turned back and gave a surprised smile when she saw a woman dressed in a burgundy jumpsuit highlighting her fair complexion, while her wavy hair left flowy added a unique charm to her. Pranavi yelled, "Aarushi!" Aarushi smirked and pulled her sunglasses down to her sharp nose bridge, revealing her hazel eyes, and winked at Pranavi. Shaking her head, Pranavi fired her questions with narrowed eyes, "When were you back? I thought you were still in B City!" Aarushi grabbed a chair and occupied the same table where Pranavi was seated, "Ugh, I came back yesterday, but I'm super busy handling some urgent cases and couldn't get a chance to call you guys." "Got you, Ms. Busy Lawyer!" Pranavi said with a sarcastic grin when Aarushi flicked her forehead, making Pranavi groan. When they were settled and got their orders, Shreya finally arrived in her white T-shirt paired with black slim-fit denim and an olive shirt unbuttoned while her hair was styled in a bun with open hair. Glancing at the woman opposite Pranavi, she quickly strode to their table and screamed in delight, "Aarushi!" "Jeez! Calm down, girl." Aarushi smirked when Pranavi gave a chuckle, "our drama queen!" "What a nice compliment!" Shreya exclaimed while patting her shoulders to annoy them and asked with a curious gaze, "What were you guys doing here?" "Well, I was about to come to your apartment but stopped here to surprise you guys with their ice cream brownies since we all like them and met Pranavi here unexpectedly!" Aarushi said in one breath when Pranavi scowled, "take a breath, dumbo." Aarushi laughed, "you know I'm always like that! What's your fuss now?" Pranavi gave a disgusting scowl when Shreya and Aarushi high-fived. "Pranavi," Shreya called when she hummed without giving much attention. "Why were you here alone? What were you up for today?" Shreya queried with a scrutinizing glare because it was unusual for Pranavi to go alone when they were both at university. So, Shreya couldn't help but look at Pranavi suspiciously because she knew Pranavi well. That is, unless they force Pranavi, she won't spit out her troubles! "Um... me? Nothing!" Pranavi gave a terrified look because she herself wasn't convinced yet! How can she explain it to Shreya and Aarushi? She eyed Pranavi skeptically, but they focused on savoring their ice cream for now! ...
