When she’d arrived that morning, Lucien was strangely aloof, spiriting her off to the storeroom, while he told her he’d be in his studio working. Having the morning to herself, she was glad he chose to stay clear of her. Just returning to the house was difficult enough. To have had him leaning over her shoulder, it would be impossible to work. There were things she wanted to say about their night together, but she wasn’t yet ready to talk. She still hadn’t understood their Sunday date, the romantic meal, the quick seduction and her unexpected behavior in the back of his car.
