Darius was disgusted by what the salesman said; he wanted to prove him wrong; he wanted to show him that he's more than what he could ever imagine. He has another option to talk to the owner of the shop to sell the jewelry to him or get the salesman sacked. He thought of it at some point: the man is just following orders and rules, so what is the extent of the talk to sack him? Even though the man has a running mouth, he's still following orders.
"I will triple the price," Darius said, still insisting.
"Oooh gosh, another scheme of lavishing his endless money," John said inside his mind as he stood beside Darius, watching at what was going on. Darius has giving him a command to remain still never to intervene.
"Yes, yes, sold," a old man said while coming out quickly from an office, at the right of the stairs. Wearing a jeans trouser with glasses, and a walking stick. He ended up being the manager of the jewelry store.
He quickly walked to Darius and lent him a handshake. "Sorry, sir, for the way my apprentice responded to you," the man said while talking fast.
He then turned and looked at the salesman. "Are you okay? Can't you see that he wants to buy the whole thing?"
"but.. sir, those jewelry are sold already, and the customer will come to take them," the salesman responded.
"And so what, what if it was sold? Can't you see a customer that is willing to triple the price for it, is here? Are you insane?"
The old man then shifted his gaze back to Darius. "I'm Mr. Williams, sir, sorry for what my apprentice said and how he approached you on the matter.i will be glad to have a business with you, so let's deal, the old man said while shining his teeth
He then continued, “I heard you say something like you will triple the price of all of them," the man asked.
"Yes, of course, I am willing to buy all of it, if you are willing to sell it.
Darius now checked his wrist watch, he then lent out a signed “package it quickly” he said. I don't have time to waste here. He then raised his hands to his chin and started rubbing it gradually.
"Yes, sir, we'll do it immediately as required," the old man said while touching the salesman.
"Go… go…. Now package the stuff for him."
"Urm, but before that, sir, what's your payment method, cash or electronic transfer?" the old man requested while smiling. Trying to be sure if Darius is not blabbing.
"Yeah, about that," Darius replied while bringing out a Golding credit card from his pocket. "Here it is," he said while lending the card to the old man; "how much is the total of everything?" The earrings, both the diamond type and Golding type. Darius asked.
When the old man collected the card, he was dazzled by the beauty of it. "Wow, what the hell," the man's eyes quickly shifted to the side of the card, which had a write up written as Wades, "wow, Wade, Wade is the top richest man in this city," the man murmured silently as he turned and looked at Darius. While Darius was busy admiring the beauty of the jewelry.
"Could it be what I am thinking? Could he be his son? No, no, it can't be. It's been said that he doesn't have a son, but rumors later spread out that he has a son who is fully grown, but his identity was completely hidden."
The man now smiled at Darius as he said "The total should be 10 million dollars, sir," the old man said. "Should I proceed?" he asked.
"Yes, of course, proceed with the payment," Darius agreed.
The old man's eyes widened in surprise as he exclaimed wow. "Okay, Sir, your PIN," the old man asked while handling the payment device with the Golding credit card inserted inside.
"There is no need for a PIN, just proceed with the payment; the card doesn't use a PIN."
The credit card Darius was using is a type of card that only billionaires own; it doesn't use a PIN; it's a direct payment card for easy use. Getting the card requires you to have access to a lot of wealth.
The old man was surprised; this was the first time he had seen such flashy wealth in his eyes. He just made an entire year's worth of gain in a single day. As soon as the payment was successful, he quickly handed the Golding card to Darius.
Thank you sir, is really good doing business with you, the old man said while lending Darius another shake.
No! It's nothing. I just love the design on the jewelry and I thought it would be perfect for my wife at home, Darius said.
The salesman approached Darius with the package. "Sorry, sir, I doubted you. I'm sorry if I have offended your temper," he said while bringing down his head in regret.
"Hey, it's nothing; I just wish to have fun today, that's why" Darius responded.
He then looked at John and said "John, take the package from his hands; we need to get home soon to give it all to Elena. She will be very happy to see me, I can't wait to see the smile that will spread on her face."
"And for you, sales guy, I understand that you are doing your job and following rules. For that, I am rewarding you with a million dollars," Darius said, " and I am giving you in cash."
"John, go get me a cash of 1 million dollars from the car and give it to this dude over here,”he said.
Hearing this, the salesman couldn't believe his ears and eyes; he had doubts at first when Darius wanted to make the payment for the jewelry he bought; 10 million dollars isn't some little money to play with. And now Darius is offering him a million dollars; the salesman couldn't make a word; he was confused and lost, full of different thoughts in his mind. Could he be playing me or what, the salesman murmured.
"Did you know what a million dollars could do in my life? A million dollars is just like a salary of 20 years of me working here. And the jewelry I told him that is for a customer, it's a lie, no customer has it, it's just too expensive for anybody to buy," the salesman murmured inside his mind, completely clueless and filled with awe.
John quickly came in with a briefcase, filled with cash of one million dollars inside.
"Give it to him," Darius said. "Accept my reward for your loyalty to your work."
The salesman couldn't believe his eyes, his hands gently moving as he accepted the money in the briefcase, his hands were shaking as he held the briefcase with the money inside.
"Thank you so much, sir, it is just like I am in a dream, sir; I can't believe this, sir; you just changed my life, sir," the salesman said while crying, tears filled his eyes as he continued speaking. "Sir, you are just like a godsend.
I have been looking for money all this while to pay my daughter's hospital bill; she has been in the hospital for one year now. Thank you so much, sir," with this now I can go ahead and pay off her bills. the salesman fell to his knees and appreciated deeply with tears gushing from his eyes.
Darius smiled and looked at the man; "What is your name?" he asked, his voice calm and chilling to the man's ears.
With tears in the man's eyes and his crackling voice due to the deep emotions he suddenly fell into, he responded. "My name is Barnabas."
"Okay, Barnabas, go use this money. Take care of your daughter, okay? Keep following rules and be sincere," Darius said while walking towards the exit door of the store.
"Sorry to ask, sir, are you the son of Oliver Wade, the old man Williams asked."
Darius turned his head and smiled, then turned back and continued walking towards the exit of the jewelry shop without saying another word.
"Wow, this is unbelievable. He just bought something worth 10 million dollars in a blink of an eye, and he has a Golding card, which only a few in this city have, the Wade family," the old man said.
Then he turned in and looked at Barnabas, who was still surprised and trying to comprehend what just happened. "Is this part of his dream or a reality?" Barnabas lost in thought as he held the briefcase of 1 million dollars in both his hands tightly hugging it with both of his hands wrapped on it.
"And I can't believe he just gave you a million dollars. Wow, that's a life change for you, Barnabas. If you don't mind, can I have part of my share inside the money," the old man asked politely, with a glimmer of a smile on his face. "If not for the privilege of you working for me, you wouldn't have gotten this kind of a massive favour from one of my customers. So respect yourself and lend me my share."
"What did you say," Barnabas responded angrily with a shifted gaze of a disgusting look. "You are so selfish, old man; I have been holding myself from disrespecting you for a long time now, sir. If you don't mind, I'm getting the hell out of here." Barnabas said while standing up from the ground. "You know what, old man, I quit, I quit from this stupid job. So goodbye, I need to get to the hospital to clear off my daughter's bill and start up a business that will help my life."
And by the way you hardly pay me, so why should I mind.
