Prologue
"Hey,"
I put down the document I'm reading. I smiled seeing my brother holding two cups of coffee as he entered my office.
"I brought you your favorite," he said and went closer to me. His steps were kinda heavy.
"Thank you," I smiled sweetly. He smiled back but I felt something was different. "Is there something wrong?" I asked. My brows furrowed as I stared at him. He just gave me a small smile.
"Nothing, I just missed you." He said and kissed the top of my head.
"I feel like there's something wrong," He chuckled.
"You're being paranoid," I rolled my eyes and took a sip on my coffee.
The hot liquid feels like soothing my soul.
"Hey, I'll be leaving in two days." I almost vomit the coffee. My brow arched as I turned my head to see him.
"What? Why?" Tuloy tuloy na tanong ko. He went near the glass wall of my office and stared at the skyscrapers outside my office.
"I just need to attend some businesses in London," he casually said. He sipped on his coffee and didn't bother to look at me.
"How about Jasmine?" I asked curiously. Nanatili lang ang mata ko sa kanya. Again, he didn't bother to even look at me.
"I already told her about this," I put down the cup of coffee on my office table. I leaned on my swivel chair as I crossed my arms and legs. I remain silent while tapping my index finger on my arm.
"So what was her response to this?" I uncrossed my arms as I said that. His side appearance makes me wonder why we are having this kind of conversation.
Usually, he would just send me a message saying he's already on a flight back to London. But this time, he personally visits me just to tell me he's leaving?
"She'll follow me there after a month."
What does he need to attend for a month without Jasmine? Maybe I should check or message Anton to ask about their businesses.
"What do you need to attend to?" I can't help but to ask. He silently took a sip on his coffee.
"Just some business,"
My eyes narrowed. I'm still doubting his reason. There are so many reasons for me to doubt him. I can't just help but to doubt him.
Maybe I'm really paranoid.
"Update me when you get there," I nonchalantly said. He turned around and put the cup of coffee down on the table near him.
"I will," he said in a serious tone.
He went closer to me and kissed the top of my head before he left my office without saying goodbye.
I felt my heart starting to beat weirdly. I really feel like there's something wrong.
But I hope not.
It's been years. We've been living peacefully and I don't want to end our peaceful life anymore.
