Axel picked Layla up and carried her in his arms to a car that was waiting. Alex was there, holding the door open for them.
“Hey kitten,’ he smiled and hugged her as Axel let her down
“Glad you are safe and in your alpha’s arms,”
Layla blushed even brighter as he continued on,
“We missed you, kitten, all of us, our pack isn’t the same without you,”
“Thank you,” she smiled shyly
Layla had not realized how much the wolves of the Wildwood pack meant to her until that very moment. She would be happy to return to her territory, yes hers, when her stay with the Highlanders was over in a week.
For the first time in her life, she had a family, a real family that loved her no matter how hard she tried to deny it.
She and Chalci purred as they rode in the car, snuggling up to Axel and Arm
