I showered, rinsing off the sweat from this morning's run, and headed down for breakfast. I had had enough of the awkward atmosphere that had lingered in this house since we returned home 5 days ago, so today I planned to act like none of it had happened. None of it. I bounced down the stairs in a pair of tight denim hot pants and an aqua blue spaghetti top, I loved how this outfit showed off my curves, it made me feel more confident then I knew I was.
"Good Morning you wonderful people!" I boomed as I glided through the kitchen to the mouth-watering breakfast my mother had laid on the kitchen island. I grabbed a plate full of pancakes and fruit, kissing both mum and dad on the cheeks as I passed them and slipped into the seat next to Ethan at the breakfast bench, smiling at Flint and Isla opposite me. Isla returned my smile warmly while Flint looked absolutely dumbfounded.
"You're in a good mood this morning Sunshine." I turned meeting his bright green eyes and smiled.
"Of course I am, have you seen what a beautiful day it is out there." I turned my head to Flint and Isla again, not wanting to get caught in his gaze, "So you three, what is the plan for today? I was thinking we could all hang out together. Maybe pop into town, grab a movie and lunch, or whatever?" Isla's face fell instantly.
"Sorry Kiddo, I've got plans with Isla today. Just the two of us." Flint interjected with a sly smile over his face as he turned to wink at her. I felt myself resisting the urge to gag.
"Ew, Flint. Just Ew." I squirmed.
"Oh so you can flaunt you're active s*x-life in my face, but I can't do the same to you. Hypocrite." He retorted and I could see Isla's face turning a pale shade of pink.
"Actually Big Brother, I never actually said a thing about my s*x-life." No way was I going to let him ruin my perfectly good mood, "You" I said pointing my finger at him, "drew your own conclusions. I simply neither confirmed or denied your accusations, because quite frankly, who I may or may not share a bed with, is none of your business." Flint opened his mouth to retaliate but I held my finger up to him in a dismissive move, "So Ethan, surely you are not too busy to hang out with your Little Ray of Sunshine?" I fluttered my eye-lashes at him, "Or do I need to go and see if Brody is free to entertain me." I teased, slipping my phone out of my pocket and scrolling through my contacts for his number.
"Actually, your mother has a shopping list of essentials for game day, that we need you to grab for us." My father beamed from the island. I turned to him with a large pout and puppy dog eyes, which usually got me what I wanted, especially when it came to my father. "Don't look at me like that Thea, you two can still go watch a movie or whatever you like, just as long as you bring these groceries home with you... No excuses. Your mother and I are too busy to go ourselves so this needs to be done. Understood?"
"Yes Daddy," I grumbled.
"Not a problem Sir." Ethan's silky voice charmed from behind me.
I turned back to my pancakes to see Flint stifling the urge to laugh as he ushered Isla out of their seats.
"Have fun guys!" He shouted as he left the house.
I felt a warm hand rest on my bare thigh, which sent tingles all up my body.
"Put your phone away Sunshine, I'll be your entertainment for the day," he whispered in his silky smooth voice.
