Bo Wu entered New Orleans from the Westside. He drove miles over the causeway towards the city. He marveled at the scene below the elevated highway. It seemed like an endless trek over swamps and Lake Pontchartrain. He saw a few swamp barge shacks, but mostly the many government-provided homes for the people devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The wealth of Americans was awe-inspiring. Even these economically poor people had excellent homes compared to the rural poor of China. But, Bo did not have time to contemplate economics. An hour later and Bo Wu was lost inside the city of New Orleans. Until now, he was accustomed to the North-South, East-West grid system American cities seem to follow. New Orleans was another story.
