When Amaris opened her eyes, everything was pitch black. A strong, salty sea breeze filled her nose, and the roar of waves crashing against rock echoed in her ears. Her wrists burned where rough hemp rope rubbed against the skin, and her whole body felt so weak she could barely lift a finger. She had never imagined something like this could happen to her.
