AMAYA’S POV
The cops kept coming in to ask me what I remembered about what happened. I gave them the same response; we were attacked suddenly, by masked men. I was severely injured when I tried to fight them off, and Natalie was forcefully taken away.
They still had not gotten any information or found out about her whereabouts which was killing me. They had promised to do the best they could.
What was worse was that the smell of medications made me feel nauseous. I didn’t want to be here.
“How do you feel, Amaya? Is there still any pain in your head?” the nurse asked, and I shook my head.
“No,” I shook my head; my voice was hoarse. I spent nights bawling my eyes out and yelling.
“Okay, I will be back for the last dose of your medication by afternoon”, she said and proceeded to check the IV FLUID that was being passed into my body.
“Okay”, I nodded.
“You should rest as much as you can; you have swollen eyes,” she said, patting my shoulder.
“Thank you”, I muttered under my breath.
The door was soon open, and she was out of the room, leaving me all by myself.
The door sprung open again, and I expected the nurse to be back, but to my surprise, Caleb was standing by the door.
I got very furious and wanted to throw tantrums, but I resisted the urge to do so. Everything Natalie told me about Caleb kept ringing in my head which made me more sensitive to his presence.
“You don’t look happy to see me”, Caleb said, closing the door behind him.
“At least you can read the room”, I rolled my eyes and hissed.
“How are you?”, he asked, ignoring my unwelcoming response.
“That’s none of your f*****g business Caleb.” I rolled my eyes at him.
“You should take it easy. I know it’s a lot for you to take in because of how Richard treated her, but trust me, we don’t have a hand in any of these”, he said.
“You don’t have a hand?”, I laughed mockingly.
“What is that supposed to mean?”, he looked confused.
“You tried to r**e her when she went to you for help”, I spilled out.
His eyes widened in surprise.
“You’re surprised that she told me?”, I asked, on seeing his facial expressions. “She tells me everything and didn’t spare you out of it all”
“I can explain, I only…”, he fidgeted.
“She was your best friend’s fiancé for crying out loud, but all you wanted was to take advantage of her vulnerability!” I yelled; I sat up on the bed.
“I was only trying to help her!”, his voice had gotten louder.
“Help her? By having s*x with her?”, I laughed on hearing this. “Can you even hear yourself?”
“Look, Amaya, I only came to check on you after finding out what happened to you”, he said.
“Well, as you can see, nobody wants you. You’re a piece of s**t and nothing other than a f*****g son of a b***h!”, I yelled with every single strength I could get.
“Amaya!” his eyes darkened with anger; I could tell that he refrained from being violent by how his hands shook. “Keep quiet!”, he yelled.
“And if I don’t?”, I said, daringly.
“Look up to your right; there is a CCTV CAMERA, and this room’s being bugged. You wouldn’t be able to leave this place in peace if anything happened to me”, I said.
He didn’t bother to look up at the camera and just scowled at me.
“You don’t want to know, I promise,” he finally said slowly.
“You’re just as evil as your friend”
“She would not be going through this if only she had agreed to be with me instead of Richard”, Caleb said, his voice lowered as he bent over to maintain the same gaze with me.
“So you know about her whereabouts?” I asked, but there was no response from him. All I got was a smirk which made me more furious.
“Say something!”, I yelled.
He turned to leave.
“caleb!”
“The cops will be after you very soon; they got everything that was said here,” I said.
“They detached it already, and the room is not being bugged by the cops, so this also means I can do anything I want.” he turned around and laughed.
“Bastard! Youfucking son of a b***h! Hope you rot in hell”, I cursed.
He kept laughing and waved at me before finally leaving the room.
He was a psychopath and a big one at that. I was going to have him dealt with when I got out of here.
But first, Natalie needs to be found. I couldn’t think of a life without my best friend in it, she made me experience love, and I was grateful to her for that.

NATALIE’S POV
Every single time that passed through pricked my skin, I was so tired and helpless. There was nothing I could do to get myself out of this except I drowned myself which was not an option as the guards which now parolled the ship began to take their job seriously after my last tour.
I placed my hand on my stomach, hoping to feel my baby move. I didn’t feel anything, but I was sure it was still growing inside of my body.
“Do you want to use the restroom?” a uniformed lady asked me, and I nodded.
“Yes”, I nodded.
“Okay, follow me”, she led me.
When I was done, I was directed back to where I had found myself when I had just woken up.
Minutes later, at the usual time, food was brought in.
Everyone got served food to their satisfaction, I was too hungry to think about eating twice.
Surprisingly, the cake tasted nice.
“Are you Natalie?” a lady asked; she wasn’t uniform like the rest of them, so I guess she was a high protocol.
“Yes”, I nodded. I had just taken the last piece of food.
“The captain wants to see you”
“Where is he?”, I asked.
“Follow me”
We both walked towards a closed door, she turned the doorknob and the door opened.
“Go in,” she instructed, and I obediently entered.
There was a man seated behind the desk, he was glancing through a paper when I entered.
“Have your seat”, he said, not taking his eyes off the paperwork.
“Okay, sorry about that. I had to check that it is intact”, he said, putting aside the paperwork.
“I asked for you because you’re the newest here and probably don’t know me; I’m Captain Jack,” he introduced.
“Okay”
“If there’s anything you need, let me know. I would be more than willing to help”, he said.
“Thank you”
After conversing with him, I left the room and was back to my newly found space. It was different from the cell I was in but I still wasn't allowed my freedom, although my hands were no longer bound by ropes
“Sir Domineco bought her; she’s so lucky,” I heard one of the uniformed ladies whisper to her friend. They both looked at me, enviously which made me wonder what was wrong.
“Are you sure it’s her?”, she whispered again.
“Yes, I have never been so sure”, the friend confirmed.
I looked at them and they immediately dispersed as though they had just been caught red-handed.
“Domenico? That was his name?” I thought before I finally crashed out.
