Chapter 02

“ Are you ready princess?” Lauren’s father asked his sweet daughter while fixing her uniform. Today, she will be enter the primary school and they decided to enroll her to the public school in their town. Lauren got so tall that she can pass as a child model, her skin looks so natural white and soft plus her eyes are too perfect for her face. She grow up to be a beautiful kid and a very innocent one.

“ Are you ready prince E-Ethan?” she sweetly asked Ethan whom she became best friend with. She is too comfortable and clingy with him that she wants to enroll in public primary school just for him.

“ Yup my princess,” the 9 years old Ethan said before patting the head of Lauren and holding her hand before they enter the gates. Their parents are so in love with their cuteness especially when they turned around and waved to them before running inside the school while still holding each other’s hand.

“ Teacher! I want Lauren to be my seatmate!” Ethan said in a serious voice before tugging Lauren’s hand and placing her things beside his table. The teacher shook her head and nodded because she can’t do anything, especially when the kids are doing this since then. They don’t want to socialize with other kids and they seems so close that they have another world of their own.

“ Do you think that girl have no money?”

Young Lauren asked Ethan then she pointed out a teenager wearing a croptop and ripped jeans. They are now in the public playground and playing in the swing while eating a lollipop. Ethan became matured with age and shows a real smart attitude compared to his batch. He loves reading and learning things making him the top student of their school.

Ethan looks again at the girl and pretended to think.

“ What do you that she’s like broke?” he responded to the cute Lauren while he use his other hand to push  her swing in a slow motion.

“ Yup,” the girl said popping the letter p at the end of her sentence.

“ Why do you think so?” Ethan curiously asked because he didn’t know what’s Lauren’s talking about.

“ Because her clothes are too small for her! Plus , my mom said that I should dress with elegance and modesty!” she said in an arrogant tone before standing up and pointing her clothes to the boy in front of him.

“ When I grow up! I will not dressed like that! I want to protect my body for my prince!” she said that made Ethan laughed. His bestfriend is too cute and innocent about things and it seems like she wants to be as modest as possible right now.

“ Okay princess,” Ethan responded chuckling and patting her head making her scream. She doesn’t want anyone holding her hair even if it was him.

“ I hate you!” she said before stomping her feet and running to their house.

That was the everyday scenario of their childhood life. Ethan and Lauren became inseparable even in school and in their village. Even if Ethan’s mother is busy doing part-time jobs to support him and her, she feels comfortable leaving Ethan to Lauren’s parents and making them take care of him because he wants to play with Lauren. There are times where Ethan will sleep inside Lauren’s bedroom because his mother needs to work for a 24/7 job and Lauren’s mother will not have a problem with that since their house is big and they are happy of Ethan’s cuteness.

“ What do you want to be when we grow older?” Lauren asked in a sleepy tone beside Ethan. Like other days, he is sleeping in her room and they are wearing a same pair of pajamas.

“ Like in 10 years?” Ethan asked Lauren before adjusting his position making him face her and her sleepy face.

“ hmmmm. Or like in 15 years?” she asked in a sleepy tone before pulling closer and hugging Ethan.

Ethan placed the blanket to their young body and stare at her sleeping face.

“ I want to be with you..” his young heart said that made Lauren open her eyes and jump out of excitement.

“ Really?! “ she said while jumping in the bed, holding her doll and looking at Ethan.

“ Me too!”

“ I want to be with you when I grow old!” she happily said stopping from jumping and holding Ethan’s hand and making him walk with her outside of their balcony. They tried to keep their track silence and didn’t bother to open the lights because their mother will be furious if they found out that they are not still sleeping.

“ Why did we come here?” Ethan asked before helping Lauren to climb to the table because she keeps doing so.

“ Let’s make a wish to the stars! Look!” she gleefully said before pointing to the start just above them. They sky is glowing with stars and there are so many of them like a star shower. Because of their position they can see all of the stars clear.

“ What wish?” he said looking up at her admiring the night sky.

“ That we will grow old together… in ten..nope…uhmm. like 50 years?” she innocently asked pouting at him and waiting for him to agree with her.

“ Will they make it happen?” Ethan teased her and laughed at her.

“ Even if they don’t…..we will make it happen..” she hopefully said before closing her eyes and utter her wish. Ethan watched her seriously wishing until he just found himself closing his eyes and wishing to the above them… that whatever circumstances may happen may they do things that will make them bind together again because  they are to fulfilled their wish and that is to make them grow old together and forever.

“ Did you wish it?!”

“ I told you so!!” Lauren laughed at him and pointed at the appearance of shooting star in the night sky and just like that they enjoyed the rest
