Kaede's POV
"Quit smiling. Your smile is so fckng annoying."
"The more you talk, the more that you become more annoying to my sight."
"You don't have to say ugly. You know what? You're uglier compared to her. Not outside, but inside. I really hate the likes of you. So full of themselves."
I shook my head to make those thoughts disappear. It kept on tormenting me.
Why did I even call my nerdy look ugly? It was like I was telling myself that I am ugly too. And now, I think that was really the reason why Raven was mad. I guess it was really my fault why he became rude to me. I sighed.
I'm delighted because he cared for my nerd look, but at the same time, I'm also sad. I'm sorry that he didn’t like the true me without my disguise.
He hates me!
Ugh! Why was I even sad if he hates me? What is it if he hates me? I shouldn't be bothered. We were not even friends. He didn't even know my name.
Xyrus, if you can hear me. Please help me. I don't know what to do now.
"Miss, where's my drink? I've been waiting for some time now, ” the customer, who was already annoyed, said that brought me back to my reverie.
OH! jeez! I forgot that I was working.
What are you doing, Kaede? You're slacking off!
"I'm sorry, sir. Here's your drink, ” I apologize as I handed him his drink. I gave him an apologetic smile. The customer didn't say anything, and he just left right away after putting some bills on the counter.
Concentrate Kaede! You are Hevn here at the bar. Stop thinking of that Devil. He is not suitable for you. Do you see? He’s still corrupting your thoughts even if you are working.
"Hey! What's wrong?" Gin asked with a concerned voice who had just arrived.
I gave him a timid smile and shook my head. "Nothing. What's your order?"
"Hmm. Give me a hard drink, ” he said seriously as he sat in front of me.
Hard drink? Hmm. I think there was something wrong with him. He looked so bothered.
"Okay!"
After a minute, I gave him his drink.
"Blurt it out, ” I said to him, smiling. He looked at me and gave me a faint smile. Are we feeling the same? I think both of us are bothered about something. Me with Raven and Gin with I don't know who. I wanted to slap my cheek.
Seriously Kaede? Why are you keep on thinking about that devil?
"Blurt out what?" he said and then changed his expression to an innocent one. It was as if he didn’t know what I was talking about. Tsk.
"I know you’re bothered by something. What's the problem?" I asked as I faced him.
"Me? Look bothered? You imagine things, ” he said and then faked a laugh.
"TSS. I don't know with you. You are kind of not with yourself tonight. Did someone turn you down?" I teased him and then laughed.
"Me? Get turned down? Hah! You're funny. I had never been turned down, ” he said in an arrogant tone.
"Girls throw themself to me, baby. They flocked to me, ” He scoffed with a cocky tone.
"Really, huh?" I said while raising my right brow. He stopped laughing and then drank the liquor straight, emptying the glass that he was holding. I heard him sigh problematically.
"It's okay. It's going to be okay, ” I said to him, smiling while tapping his shoulder to comfort him. He just smiled weakly at me.
"Why are you too fast when it comes to changing the topics? You outplay me. I'm asking you first if you're okay because you also look bothered, but what did you do? You turn it to me, ” he said, shaking his head while grinning this time. Good thing he was back to his old self.
"Of course! Because I'm good, ” I said, laughing. And then Gin also laughed with me.
I stopped laughing when I felt something strange. I could feel that someone was staring at me. It was giving me goosebumps, and it was scaring me. I was starting to feel nervous. My thoughts were running wild again. And it was not doing any good at all.
Calm down, Kaede. It would be best if you calmed down. You're safe inside the bar.
I scanned the bar with my two eyes. A lot of people dancing wildly on the dance floor. Others were drinking, smoking, and making out. There was nothing unusual.
"Who are you looking at, K?" Gin asked curiously. I've been looking all around the bar, trying to find something unusual.
My head instantly turned towards Gin. "Nope. Nothing,” I said, shaking my head.
I tried to look around again but still see nothing. I just shrugged it away, thinking it was just my imagination.
"Hey! About the cake. We'll buy the ingredients this coming Sunday, right?" Gin asked, changing the topic.
"Yep! The two of us will buy the ingredients. I will write down all the ingredients later, ” I said, not even looking at him.
Goodness! I was having some goosebumps again! Someone was staring at me! Please don't tell me that they already found me? God! Please! I hope my hunch was wrong. Goodness! I'm starting to get nervous.
"By the way, don't wear your disguise tomorrow, okay? So that—K? K? Are you listening?" A poke made me turned my head to Gin and looked at him confusedly. "You are not listening to me, ” he said while his brow furrowed.
"Huh? Sorry. What are you trying to tell me?" I said as I put down my hands below the counter. My hands were shaking.
"I said, don't wear your disguise. I want to go to the mall with you. The real you, ” he said, smiling.
"What? I can’t!” I freak out nervously. I think my voice was kind of loud because some turned their heads to our location. My eyes widened, realizing what I just did. Goodness!
"Relax. You don't have to freak out, ” he said while shaking his head. "I just want to make someone jealous that's why I ask you about that, ” he said, pouting this time.
The creepy stare that I'm feeling just vanished. I looked around again and sighed. Goodness! I'm paranoid.
"Are you even listening to me, Kaede?" he asked, groaning.
"Hevn! Call me Hevn here, okay? And yes. I'll wear sexy this Sunday. Happy?" I just said to him to stop him from whining.
Did a miracle happen? The playboy Gin would make someone jealous? Hmmm. Did cupid already hit Gin with his arrow? Lucky girl!
I need to prepare for Sunday. I'd support Gin with this. Miracle only happened once in a lifetime.
"Who are you trying to make jealous anyway?" I asked while raising my right brow.
"Ahh-- s**t! How am I going to say this—" he whispered as if I couldn't hear him.
"Who?" I asked again, making him looked so tense. Seriously? Was gin acting this way? He was hit that hard, huh.
"I'll tell you on Sunday. So you better look stunning, ” he said, not telling me who it was.
"So I'm not pretty right now?" I said, raising my right brow.
"No! That's not what I mean. Aah! How am I going to say this?” he said, looking so tensed again.
"Pffftttt. Relax. Whew! Your face looks so epic, ” I said while laughing.
"Fck! Go ahead, laugh at me, ” he said, sounding pissed.
"Sorry!” I said and stopped laughing, giving him a peace sign.
He drank liquor again and slumped on the counter.
I couldn't wait for Sunday. It's going to be an exciting day.
Sunday! Please wait for me!
