In the hospital room, Karen was all prepped and Ephraim was sitting calmly by her bed, doing his best to soothe the painful moments. He had called Kyle as soon as they got to the hospital and he rounded up a meeting in the border town and headed there.
Kyle drove to the hospital as fast as he could. For some reason his heart leapt when he was told the baby was due. Nothing much had happened in the area of romance with Karen, both of them trying not to give in to the chemistry between them because of her married and pregnant state. But he felt he needed to be around her now as she gave birth, so he got there under an hour later and rushed into the room
